  • Lots of apps are able to interact with your text messages. Many apps are able to intercept one time passcode messages when registering accounts for instance.

It's also not weird to separate this if they intend for it to be able to be used in other areas as well.

Just because it may be used only by Messages right now, doesn't mean that it's intended to only be used there.

  • Given their recent demand that NASA remove information about "women in leadership", it paints a pretty clear picture of why she was fired. Nothing to do with capability, competence, or any issues with her command.

  • Oh I totally can, I just don't think that's a federal issue. And I definitely don't think that those in power are pushing changes to help in any way. It's clear they don't actually give a shit given all the rest of their rhetoric effectively saying trans people aren't real people.

  • Another mouthbreather that doesn't understand tariffs.

Amazing considering a glance at the Wikipedia page would be enough of an education to understand how tariffs don't help at all.

  • I'm sorry you seem to assume that I actually give a fuck what your thoughts on the topic are. You've already shown you trust political talking points, so you clearly aren't doing your own deep research from trustworthy sources.

Given your comments and a quick history check, you seem like one of those people that just trusted claims during the recent Olympics that Imane Khelif was trans at face value, when every single bit of evidence proved that wrong.

On top of that, linking a conservative site with the most generic propagandized name doesn't help credibility. It could be an accurate article, but no one is going to bother because you chose a shit source.

  • It wasn't a real issue. Like many of the Republican talking points, they invent an idea, fond accidental evidence or things that have already been disproven and ignore the facts while they find some fucking stooges, usually people that leave lost the respect of their field (disbarred lawyers, doctors with revoked licenses, etc.), but that appear to have credibility to an outsider, so that they can leverage that public ignorance to push the idea as widely as possible until their followers pick it up like it's a real thing and never do any actual research beyond the sanctioned outlets they control.

  • Onimusha was such a good series. Happy to see it being remastered.

Capcom is always a toss up with whether they care about any given IP anymore.

  • Also, they mentioned the crash in DC while ignoring the one in Pennsylvania? Fucking assholes.

Agreed. Although, given what we know about that crash... FAA changes in the last several years probably had nothing to do with it. It's almost surely going to end up being some sort of maintenance issue or possibly pilot error. Crashes immediately after takeoff usually are one of those.

Issues in flight, like doors flying off, etc. are more indicative of deeper issues.

  • Until ICE hears them speaking Spanish. They don't hire the brightest, I know several of them.

  • Probably, but the internet is forever. Definitely for stuff like this. There will be tens of thousands of copies of this in a few hours and it will not disappear anytime soon.

  • Possibly, but none of those bought judges matter unless it ends up in their specific court. That's why they've been trying to install as many of their own as possible.

  • You just know that's going to be exhibit 1 for the defense.

Fucking fascist Nazi man baby doesn't like when advertisers do what he tells them, and then continues to do so when he realizes that was a bad idea.

  • The thing is that the Starship issue really isn't that big a deal. There is always an FAA investigation after every spacecraft or aircraft flight anomaly.

It's not the first time and definitely won't be the last that a craft will fail to get to orbit, especially experimental ones like Starship units current iterative form.

The bigger question with the Starship anomaly is whether the active flight routes in that area during the launch window were normal or unexpected. Closer to the launch site there are large restricted areas, and launches are negotiated ahead of time and paths well known. Planes aren't normally under the direct flight path for that exact reason.

  • Ah yes, just what we need right now... FEWER controllers in an industry that's already short-staffed, and with two very recent fatal plane crashes. Perfect fucking idea.

  • Hitler was a drug addict and the trains didn't run on time.

German trains still don't run on time. Can't blame that one on the Nazis, that's just a German thing.

  • This has been obvious to anyone paying attention for the last 20 years. The Democratic party started courting billionaires for donations just like the Republicans and stopped giving a shit about anything else.

There are a few Dems in Congress that try to work within the system to accomplish actual change. But the vast majority generally just follow the party and work towards the same goals, and a few break away occasionally when it suits them. The Dems have not been actively fighting against the shift to the right for decades. They helped shift the entire country further to the right until we now have open fascism, we allowed an attempted insurrection to go unpunished, and a 34x convicted felon in the White House, and that's apparently acceptable. The Democratic party establishment is 100% ok with helping to facilitate it.

  • There are plenty of step-by-step guides to run Deepseek locally. Hell, someone even had it running on a Raspberry Pi. It seems to be much more efficient than other current alternatives.

That's about as openly available to self host as you can get without a 1-button installer.

  • Am I supposed to hold owners accountable?

Yes. Don't go there. Don't support businesses that exploit their workers. Just because it's legal that doesn't make it moral. Slavery was legal as well, we got rid of that shit (mostly, still 100% legal for prisoners).

Your exact logic supports slavery. Might want to think about that.

  • A couple issues with this take every time it's mentioned.

    1. That isn't on a per-hour basis. That is based on a usually weekly or bi-weekly cycle depending on your state. So if someone made a lot of reported tips on Saturday night, effectively making a couple hundred per hour, and no tips the entire rest of the week, they might still make the overall minimum wage for the week, effectively working 30+ hours for $2.13 an hour (federal tipped minimum) instead of $7.25 (federal minimum) or more depending on the state.

They're making on average of a good amount, but most of that work is for shit pay no one would ever consider doing at that pay rate. It is very good money during that busy time, but anyone that's ever worked food service knows busy times like that are an insane amount of work in comparison.

  • You know, I've never thought about this, but since he brought it up... does Trump not know how to swim?

Thinking back through, I don't remember ever seeing him anywhere near water deep enough to swim/drown in.
