  • Usually linux-centric laptops cost more for inferior hardware. You're usually better off just buying a Windows computer and installing Linux on it if you want the best performance for the price.

  • Gnome is mostly removing features to make maintenance easier for them. They'd rather push the narrative that there is one right way to do things and settings are unnecessary.   • Manjaro. I love it's simplicity and ease of use. It's the closest I can get to Windows without actually using Windows. I'm glad it makes using an Arch distro easy and accessible. KDE is a godsend as well.

  • If it's anything like their video player, it's going to be complete garbage. Something I love about lemmy is how I can watch videos with no lag or spotty loading. Whoever wrote reddit's video player needs to be shot.
