  • I once won a million Robux from my dad, but when I tried to collect them while unrelatedly hiding under a blanket, he got mad and banned me from Roblox, his credit card, and later from talking to that helpful woman at his bank. Some bans are entirely unfair.

  • In a for-profit medical industry, what’s the difference?

The implication is that Amazon is equal or perhaps even better. There’s no ethical consumption under capitalism but there are certainly tiers of depravity and degrees of separation, and absolving yourself of thinking about them doesn’t help. If Karen’s only crime is hating Amazon, that solidifies the woman hating origin of the meme.

  • A tiny evil company vs a multinational, data hungry, oligopoly chasing, soul stealing incarnation of human avarice. There’s a difference, Amazon employee. I’ve seen several people calling Amazon the lesser of two evils for the last few days and it literally never is. Never. That concept is fiction.

  • It’s a gargantuan group of forums that you can access through your home forum. Your home forum admins act like admins on your home forum but have no power elsewhere.

Or “It’s like Reddit, but with longer URLs and a slightly different user culture.”

  • I don’t think people are arguing against minor corrections, just wholesale plagiarism via AI. The big deal is wholesale plagiarism via AI. Your argument is as reasonable as it adjacent to the issue, which is to say completely.

  • Argentine ants are altogether too numerous to meaningfully distract or redirect for long. If there’s a new source, they’ll find a way to dive in and then produce a sister colony like 40 feet away. My options amount to either spreading poison, thereby killing a non-negligible sum of rabbits and neighborhood dogs, or killing the ants. I can always grow poisonous or undesirable veggies, but I can only take so many years of mustard, parsley, garlic, and tomatoes.

  • Dealing with this is so annoying. Not because it’s difficult to handle, though it is, but because I have to exterminate multiple Argentine ant colonies in rapid succession despite loving ants. Please just let me garden in peace, ants. :(

  • WotC seems not to understand how people play, so I mostly ignore their suggestions on the “how” of the apparent “chosen one” PCs. I’ve found sorcerer players somehow get it just right enough that I can’t complain. I do agree that people skip the buildup altogether too often. However… rapidly becoming a druid sage is the one that I have nearly unmitigable reservations about. Unless the druid is an elf who spent most of their 200s as an ascetic, I have to give them a major side-eye.

  • Wizardry makes perfect sense if the character came from a wizard school, in the same way that schooling just kinda kicks in with med interns. The martials become more accustomed to their own bodies and read others’ tells through the ol’ ultraviolence. Clerics are noticed by their god and paladins rapidly develop their god complex. Most, honestly, make sense without any legwork. Even communicating with their patron during their watch would be enough to begin understanding the intricacies of the pact magic. I dunno, maybe I just put too much effort into grounding it.
