  • It truly doesn't matter. As mentioned elsewhere, the Supreme Court will play whatever Calvinball rules are needed to make it happen, logic be damned. The fact that "corporations are people" and "presidential immunity is a complete defense for provable crimes" are said with legitimacy is proof that any faith you hold in the rule of law is null and void.

  • Fedora is security? I mean, don't get me wrong, I love it, it's my daily driver after trying just about every distro under the sun, but I would've figured something like Qubes would stand head and shoulders above it.

  • To be fair, there are a lot of "XYZ" problems on Stack Overflow where someone's missing the point with the problem they're trying to solve.

"I need my script to delete my file, but I can't figure out the pathing so I delete random files until the correct one is gone. However, it's slow -- how do I speed my script up when deleting random files?"

  • Give them a nuke back. Them relinquishing theirs assuming good faith by the Russians is half the reason this mess started. If they get one back it makes a push for total control of Ukraine an existential risk for Russia.

Edit: Before someone points it out, yes I'm being wildly naive, let me dream about a good outcome a little.

  • Yes. Growing a tree from sapling to a giant trunk removes significantly more carbon from the atmosphere than an existing trunk sitting there at mass, unable to store much more carbon.

And yes, that's why I clarified that new trees would need to be planted, right on the money.

  • I mean, that's the mechanism by which carbon is removed. It goes into tree, tree dies or gets cut down taking all the solidified carbon with it, new tree gets planted in its place to repeat the cycle. In fact, the fastest way to scrub carbon with the practice is to farm trees, assuming you do it sustainably.
