  • I skipped the titer and just got a fresh MMR vaccine because that was more convenient and covered by my insurance.

  • On Connect for Android, it's under the comment's three-dot menu. It's called "add user note".

  • I wonder if I can get Facebook to give me some of that sweet, sweet cash for the inconvenience of telling them to bugger off...

  • That's hardly anything. Facebook has a bot accessing my server's robots.txt multiple times a second. (My robots.txt used to say "Facebook bot go away" but now I just respond 404 to any requests from the Facebook bot. Pretend I said that all technical and stuff, it's 2 am and I ought to go to sleep.)

  • Yep. My household has tentative fall plans to take a road trip to Canada, if we can't get vaccinated in Freedom Land.

I'm so glad I didn't update my passport to accurately reflect my gender. Living stealth sucks in some ways but is much simpler in others.

  • Lol. Yeah, sdf.org feels pretty hands-off. They have longevity going for them--I've had an sdf account of some sort since 2009 at the latest. The system started life as a BBS in the 80s. The name comes from the anime "Super Dimension Fortress", which I've never seen.

  • This is making me want to create an alt on slrpnk.net , since you're so chill and communicative about issues.

  • TBF sometimes you just learn about animal genitalia, no matter what your field. For example, I acquired a working knowledge of snake hemipenises as assistant archivist of a herpetology collection. They didn't warn me about that in library school.

  • I know some of those characters! 🥰 (I'm on the "N" column in my hiragana learning app)

  • I hear furry art is lucrative.

  • Flashback to when the creator of lemmy.world/c/the_pack was looking for mods. I volunteered with

I’m also a shitty mod and will disappear for weeks at a time. I only have experience modding a small subreddit and have no familiarity with Lemmy’s mod tools. Feel free to hit me up.

I passed the vibe check and now I'm exactly as crap a mod as I said I'd be.

  • When someone says "I think the only bad thing about the Holocaust was that Germany did it" they need to do a fair amount of work to clarify that they do not mean that literally. Otherwise, I will be inclined to take them at their word.

  • If that were the case I'd hope they would try to be clearer.

The "@mhague@lemmy.world is a giant asshole" reading is much, much easier than the "@mhague@lemmy.world thinks the world sucks" reading, for me at least. The second reading takes some mental gymnastics for me.

Hoping you're right, but not convinced. Also giving a lot of side-eye.

  • Fried okra good. Okra in soup makes everything snotty and gross and then my mom made me eat it anyway and I just can't. /childhood texture trauma

  • I've nibbled on my dog's cricket flour treats. Tasted like any other dog treat. She adored them, though.

  • It seems fine. I feel like I've replaced the hybrid battery once, but I wouldn't swear to it. I've replaced the starter battery a couple times.

  • We have flushable dog poo bags and they're awesome. We've tested them and they dissolve after less than an hour in the toilet (maybe much sooner, but I got distracted and didn't time it).

  • Mini rant: I went to an anime convention (ConnectiCon) and was wicked excited to see that Pirates of Dark Water had a time slot. I'd finally get to see the full run!

Then someone had the bright idea to play it in a different time slot to cover something that fell through and so it wasn't played in the schedule time slot (due to rights issues or something?). I'm still annoyed.

I should probably just find an alternate way to watch it, it's been over a decade since that convention.

  • That was a minor consideration when I bought my Prius. Minor, but it did come up as a factor.

Joke's on me, this car is almost old enough to drive itself and still doing strong. I didn't foresee selling it ever 💜
