It's not even that; it's just a symptom of wealth inequality. Think about it: who are all these tourists and landlords, and why are they able to afford to outcompete the locals for the properties in the first place?
I learned the other day that apparently, if you're banned from a community Lemmy automatically unsubscribes you from it, and if you're the only user in your instance that had been subscribed to it then it stops federating. Maybe that's what happened?

I got warnings to disable my ad blocker on my Chromebook recently, but did not get the same on my Linux desktop using Firefox.
I really ought to get away from the default software on the Chromebook (Firefox via Crouton or Android or something), but it didn't work well last time I tried.
Frank Lloyd Wright designed awesome buildings, but his "usonian" urban planning ideas (i.e. Broadacre City) were fucking catastrophic.
I haven't been able to find the reference again, but I read something that said he actually worked for the FHA and wrote some of their design guidelines -- in other words, that he was directly responsible for the proliferation of suburban sprawl.
(And a bunch of other original cast members too, which is also very cool, but Rick Moranis basically quit acting to be a stay-at-home dad three decades ago and this is the project significant enough to lure him back. It's gotta be a pretty good script if it's capable of that!)
