That's why F-Droid is the safest Android app repository. If I'm not mistaken, every app they offer is rebuilt from the public source code by the repo package maintainer.
More creators need to start using Liberapay. It's a non-profit organization that funds itself via donations, so the only fees it charges are the ones being passed through from the underlying payment processor. It also avoids VAT by prohibiting creators from offering anything in exchange for payment.

That's a terrible idea; those things all run hacked firmware from China with preinstalled malware. (There's a fairly recent Linus Tech Tips video about it if you want more info.)
Instead, you need to be buying hardware from a reputable brand and then (ideally) installing a Free Software OS on it yourself, e.g. a Raspberry Pi running LibreELEC.
I know for non life threatening injuries like broken bones you might be waiting a few hours to get in, but I'd rather it be like that then have the possibility of going in massive debt.

Sometimes I get up early enough to see the sunrise in Arizona, too. I live several timezones further east so I can't actually see that sunrise from my house, but I sure get up at the right time for it!
The real bottom line is that when you create an underclass of people whose neighborhoods get firebombed or bulldozed when they get too affluent (see e.g. "Black Wall Street" in Tulsa and Auburn Avenue (formerly "the richest Negro street in the world") in Atanta, respectively) and had generations of absent fathers due to persecution for things like "vagrancy", of course they're going to stop giving a shit about laws that bind but do not protect them! It's entirely rational that people systematically excluded from being able to get ahead while acting within the law, and whose behaviors are deliberately criminalized in order to target them, would end up committing crimes at higher rates than the people benefiting from their oppression did. In other words, even if it's true that they actually commit crimes at higher rates (as opposed to being accused at higher rates or being less likely to avoid conviction, as you pointed out, which just make the statistical bias even worse by compounding on top), even that is disingenous because it ignores that the disparity is caused by classism and institutional racism, not anything intrinsic to their race itself. The fiction that it's somehow their own fault is like a society-wide version of "stop hitting yourself."
Because Windows doesn't have two different copy/paste mechanisms like X does.
(X has "highlight text to copy"/"middle-click to paste" and "ctrl-c to copy"/"ctrl-v to paste", which have completely different origins (homegrown Unix vs. copying Windows) and don't even share the same clipboard. Frankly, although it can be useful it's also kind of a mess.)
I've only really used Gentoo, Debian and Ubuntu (in that order!), each for years at a time over the past two decades. I suppose it shows how progessively fewer fucks I give about the inner workings of the system.
I also tried to install a copy of... TurboLinux 6, I think? that I got from a Ham Radio swap meet as a kid sometime in the '90s, but I never got it to work.
I was similarly confused when I saw a screenshot somebody had posted of another post in Jerboa. It was hard to tell where the screenshot ended and the app UI began again.
I think I ought to file a bug report/feature request that a thin border be added around images so they don't take up the whole screen width and you can distinguish them as images better.
Fuck it, it's just GNU now. Honestly, who cares which kernel it's using anyway?
