I think the thing AI can't do is inspired delivery of lines. Mario doesn't say much, but the way it is said is very important. I think it would be easier to replace most characters in Final Fantasy games with AI than it would Mario.
I generally agree with you, but on WordPress it can be quite hard to tell the good from the bad. I deal with it professionally, and it is a real nightmare. And as far as I can tell, WordPress takes no responsibility for quality assurance of plugins in their plugin library. They also don't have an official system to warn when vunerabilities are found in those plugins. And most people running and designing WordPress websites don't have the skills or time necessary to monitor and maintain. It's an entire ecosystem ripe for exploitation.
They certainly have their limitations. I think the same limits are one the gateway I have(I run my own controller, so a dream machine is overkill). Can't say I've encountered a situation where I need WAN VLANs on a home system, though.
The GTA's before 5 had solid story content released after the release of the main game. The pacing of the releases were reasonably quick between them. Then GTA Online happened, and rockstar stopped making games and started making money.
I wouldn't say it's entirely pointless. You are correct that by the nature of email proton has to be able to read it in transit, there's no avoiding that, it's how email(and SMTP specifically) works. But what it does mean is that proton can honestly say it can't read emails once they move beyond their edge systems. Personally, I don't use email for anything critical or sensitive without additional encryption.
The guest wifi may use VLANs on the backend, but it is in no way surfaced to the person managing it. I run Unifi equipment at home, which gives me the power to do all of that however I want, but it doesn't sound like the OP is there yet.
VLANs are a way of separating your network into logical networks without physically separating them. They are useful, but generally require your networking equipment to support them. Most cheap home switches don't really support VLANs, nor do most consumer routers.
For work we have standards, ideally we separate VLANs by device type and firewall off their communication, but on a home network, I'd generally group by category. .1-9 network gear like switches and firewalls. .10-19 IOT. .20-29 servers & NAS. So on and so forth.
That's a sign that they aren't goofing on the encrypted part. If done right, they can't decrypt your emails to hand them over on IMAP, so a bridge would be necessary to decrypt on your equipment, then hand off the decrypted mail to your IMAP client. It's nice they offer that solution.
I generally steer people away from wordpress. Although the base system is reasonably secure, the plugin ecosystem is a security nightmare. The burden of maintenance is a real pain in the ass.
It also has nothing to do with Linux and everything to do with how Github works. I actually give him a pass on nuking X while installing Steam, that shouldn't happen(although he did get a nice big warning, but that warning was far from user friendly). But some of the other stuff they ran into was "This doesn't work exactly like windows, therefore is bad." type stuff.
Personally, the lack of ads is a big one for me. I will not watch ad filled content. Any time I'm on vacation and turn on a hotel TV and have to deal with ads it is so frustrating. Especially now that content is made for streaming, so there aren't logical ad breaks in the story. Just random hard cuts in the middle of content.
The first screenshot is of Dells built in system tools for servers. Being a Dell server he should have Dell's iDRAC, which is a lights out management module. It is really fantastic.
It doesn't help that TVs don't include decent speakers anymore. A soundbar is a minimum, although I've seen those start to cheap out on the speakers too. Poor audio quality makes humans less understandable.
Windows 365 is a contingent against the growth of mobel and MacOS. You are right, it is there for business. It competes with other RDS solutions, but I think the focus is to allow business to keep old tools around while everyone is demanding iPads and MacBooks, without having to go to a third party.
Windows 12 won't be a thing client with a subscription to a cloud PC. The economics and technology aren't there. But a good RDS solution tied strongly to M365 is valuable for Mac users and contractors that might not be issued a company computer.
Yeah, I used unity for a jam about a month ago, it took me about 4 hours to get VSCode working. In the end it was as simple as rolling the C# plugin back a few versions, but boy did it take me a long time to figure that out.
Looks cool. Of course the quality is far from perfect, but I can see it being combined with more classical procedural generation techniques to create some interesting experiences.
