  • My guess is for every 1 developer there's 10 or more non technical administrative jobs. Most tech companies are grossly fat worth useless non productive employees that do very menial bureaucratic work. Think Office Space, but less neck ties.

  • The best Chinese I had in my town was shut down as it was involved in drug smuggling, money laundering, and human trafficking. The food was so good that dignitaries and Hollywood actors would eat there when passing through town. The owner had photos of himself with 2 presidents (old bush and Clinton) and quite a few actors, along with a bunch of other rich people and stuff.

  • Well one metric would be cost per kg to get something into space. I also recall a lot of people dying when NASA first started going into space, of which SpaceX has not had any rockets explode with people in them, but I'm not impaired enough to make that false equivalence like you did with Mars.

  • That kia is a piece of shit (quality wise) that will fall apart easily, has literal cardboard in the seats and panels, has no sound insulation for road noise, handles like garbage, and has poor performance. Heated seats and cheap electronics do not make it luxury.

It is all opinion, but I think every person that's driven a wide array of cars would not consider kia luxury. Ever.

  • Lexus & Acura, yes, entry level luxury. I've never seen one that clearly competes with higher end brands. The similar lower models I think are faux luxury. The cheapness is not hard to find.

American BMW & Mercedes to me are clear moderate / mid level luxury. Most models anyway. I say American because I've seen some very low trim models in Europe. Also, those brands are just my example. I know there are others.

I define luxury as long lasting comfort, high level quality control, sound insulation, responsiveness, economics, durability, etc.

Luxury certainly has changed over time. Just my opinion.

  • Well that's certainly an opinion.

So you wouldn't laugh at someone wearing clown makeup but otherwise acting serious?

I say fair game to anyone that intentionally alters their appearance in a stupid way.

  • They aren't servers... It's just kitchen staff / cashiers that walk around every few minutes. At least they're making more than $3/hr. But yeah... I don't really call that service. The food got insanely expensive about a year ago too, so I stopped going there.
