You clearly have not read the article, and thus don’t understand that the prophylactic nature of the shot requires a 6-month administration cycle. Like when you get a flu shot, or a Covid vaccine. Or (with current PrEP meds) a pill that you take every day.

And that’s by design. They’re doing their best to undermine higher education in any way they can because Steven Miller et al think that’s where the “woke mind virus” comes from, and also know that educated people are not only somewhat harder to grift, but also tend to think Miller and his ilk are (at the very least) massive assholes

So, call me crazy, but I really do think the protest organizers need to push WAY harder on the idea that while ICE is the enemy, the NG (and the military at large too, hopefully) is not. We should make posters saying stuff like “NG: We’re citizens, and you’re citizen soldiers; we should be friends!”

I genuinely do hope and believe that when the chips are really down at some point, if the National Guard or any active-duty unit is ordered to do something absolutely beyond the pale, they’d refuse the order and frag the person who gave it. I think that may be part of how we end up getting out of this shitshow. And yes, I do realize how deeply fucked it is that I’m basically banking on a mutiny by elements of the US Military as our final breakwater against fascism… but our civilian institutions are manifestly failing to meet the moment in any meaningful way.

Hell, I’m a straight white cis dude and I’m thinking of fucking off. One of the reasons I am considering that is because I have family members who are visibly mixed race, and I would potentially serve as a safe harbor for them, or any friends and family who no longer felt safe in the states. Also, I work in an industry that’s being affected by all of our regulatory agencies being disintegrated, so it’s probably going to be a reasonable career move too, in the long term.

It shouldn’t be a problem for a benign, non-violent, community-oriented undocumented immigrant to be an immigration advocate under normal circumstances, but these are not normal circumstances.

Holy shit that’s actually kinda huge. I know several people who had renewed their passports, and the government had reverted their gender to their birth sex, so the passports were essentially useless - or at the very least, extremely troublesome to use

Anyways: I’m a rather staunch opponent of fascism, so if you’re trying to insinuate that I’m rooting for that chucklefuck assassin, you’re way off base. I’m simply expressing the idea that the “intractable” political problem of gun ownership and reasonable regulation thereof would be solved fucking immediately if we forbade armed security details for legislators at any level.
