  • Sadly true and most people aren't wired to see it. The difference, in my mind, is the degree to which this is politely hidden. I do pay tax willing and recognize the value of government versus anarchy but this is true on a fundamental level.

  • I always take screenshots of the app screens and have them ready to go. Nothing worse than the app deciding it needs to refresh and then hanging just as you reach a scanner.

I print paper copies just in case but rarely need them. Last time I tried to use one the scanner couldn't read it because it was designed to scan phones and passes, not the giant version they send you to print.

  • A pardon is essentially that. But only literally in the case of a conviction. You can issue blanket pardons which basically say "if you did something, you are pardoned". These do not have the direct acknowledgement of guilt but it's obviously heavily implied.

  • "Well, Judge, I purchased each pair at such a high price because my client, Mr. Ivan Oligarchsky, believed them to actually be solid gold and has no desire to return them."

"What's that? Oh, yes, the same is true of Sam Saudi, the other party I represented. He is also satisfied and would just like this whole thing to go away."

"As to my own culpability in assisting this alleged, ALLEGED, skirting of political fundraising guidelines (we don't like the term 'laws') I was acting as a broker for the rightful President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, so I declare immunity."

"Yes, I have seen The Office, why do you ask?"

"Mostly livestock law, you know 'was it coyotes or the damn Hendersons', but I have done some real estate for family. It's a small town. Very conservative. Not much call for lawyering."

  • Here's the thing in my opinion: he doesn't have the cash so he's either going to con supporters out of money (he literally has a GoFundMe), or he's going to illegally use some other source of funding possibly draining coffers he'd use to campaign, or he's going to sell some assets.

All of these scenarios affect him negatively.

Lots of his idiotic supporters are finally cluing into the fact that he's been conning them for years. His stupid ATM scam, the nft scam, his bs charity and university, etc. A lot of them are not smart enough to connect the dots but some of them are.

The using money earmarked for campaigning one could be illegal or not depending but he tends to get people to do illegal things because he thinks he won't personally get in trouble and it's faster and easier to get what he wants that way. People who have donated heavily (large and small donors) might not like this.

Selling assets will expose how leveraged he is. If he was as rich as he said he'd just write a cheque. It will also be a very public transaction that he'll be negotiating at a tremendous disadvantage.

These add up and remove a safety net he will need as he receives further judgements against him.

  • It's so transparent.

Putin gets Tucker to come over, platforms himself to the idiots in the US, they go around on news interviews saying how he's not so bad, Putin has Navalny killed n an obvious way, cognitive dissonance ensues, Republicans become further entrenched rather than admit they are beholden to a dictator and his boss, Putin.

It's like a mob boss putting a cigarette out in a bought cop's beer he gave him then insisting he finish it. A little reminder of who is in charge.

  • You are correct and it drives people crazy. Just consider, though, that people were saying that the web allowing anyone to publish their views as fact would undermine the averages person's ability to know what is true. It kind of did.

I don't have a hot take. I agree with you. But I also think this will change things in ways we don't fully understand yet.
