  • These have outcomes that may not be ideal and the results do not persist if you stop taking them.

If know a lot of people on these. A good percentage of them are using it as a cheat code to continue their existing patterns. A couple have used it to assist in behavior modification. They seem to have better outcomes.

We'll see how people are doing in the long run.

The recipe for weight loss is simple. Changing a lifetime of behavior is not. I speak from experience.

I think these drugs are the new gastric bypass surgery. For some they will see results but they will go back to their preferences before long. For a smaller group, long term behavior change will occur.

Fingers crossed that there are no longer term health problems from these because so many people I know are on them.

I think the next generation of these will be better...

  • It's just a matter of time before a lady starts feeding bears from her back porch and the towns are overrun. You could make a bundle trading bear spray for other items that you eventually barter for things that other people have that you want assuming your barter goods have value to them.

    Sounds like a real utopia.

  • You have to select starchy potatoes, not waxy, and let them steam dry (e.g. drain water in metal colander and toss in a warm oven or on the stove for a bit). Mix in the seasoning and milk/butter after they are mostly mashed for better control of consistency.

Edit: was agreeing. Glueyness is not because they are cut up.

  • I have no idea how anything works but I'm a 50 year old man so I've got an opinion.

He has lots of assets and a judgement against him in their favor makes them high priority creditors (I think).

My guess is they will liquidate his assets, pay lawyers, pay banks, then pay these women and anyone else he's in debt to.

There will probably be a proceeding where his creditors lawyers line to explain why they should be paid first so maybe it won't go that way.

But rest assured: the lawyers and banks will be paid and he's deeply in debt.

He probably sees this as way to both restructure his debt and avoid paying them. How successful he is at that will be revealed in time.

  • I find devs that have a blue collar (or whatever) background are the best. You know what actual work is separate from the programming aspect.

I got into dev later in life and the real world experience contributed to my ability to focus, complete work, get along with others, and appreciate the value of a well paying job where I wasn't physically at risk.

  • An older relative is here for the holidays and was watching some YouTube yesterday. Somehow, there exists a 30 minute which talked all about what a genius Trump was and how he doesn't like electric vehicles. Just this endless stream of "Donald Trump visionary policies on..." and his brilliant predictions that were all true. No details, references, or a critical thought about how Trump probably doesn't know that there's anything inside the parts of the car he can't see.

Edit - what I am trying to point out is that this goes way beyond traditional news outlets. I don't think this guy watches a lot of news. I do think he considers himself well informed. We are Canadian, BTW. He's into cars (and an incredible mechanic as well as being a generally good person I enjoy spending time with) so this is on his feed.

  • Love this. Lol.

I used to maintain a system that was used to track loss prevention. Basically security company that followed delivery trucks. It was wild to read database records about these guys openly selling their stolen goods (building supplies) while testing my code changes.

The database was sanitized of identifying info if anyone cares.

  • A long time ago I had a job cooking at a hotel in Switzerland (am Canadian). As a more junior person I'd get stuck working buffet stations and lots of Americans assumed the staff didn't understand English. Anyway, my favorite thing was how the Americans would freak out because menu prices were not in US dollars. Lol. Harmless but indicative of a certain worldview.

  • When I was a kid, headphones had the beefy one associate with guitars. The smaller ones came out when Walkmans became popular. We called them mini-plugs and you'd buy an adapter to use them with older gear.

Memories based on being born in early '70s. Possibly incorrect.
