  • BBB was my entry into SBCs but had to shift over to the Pi as my requirements got complex. Apart from what you've mentioned, there's also the fact that BBB is waaaay less powerful than the Pi, I mean we're talking 512 MB RAM and a single-core 1GHz processor here.

  • Yeah +1 on Google Search becoming shit lately. I shifted to DDG for a while but settled on Brave Search for now. Their new AI summarizer is quite good and I like how they club Discussion posts together.

  • Suki is a cute name, you must suki her very much :)

  • I used to do this lol. Lights out at 10 PM on a school night but if I was ever in the middle of an interesting book, I just couldn't help myself. Would sometimes read till 1 in the morning and then yawn all the day at school.

  • CS:Go has some pretty unwelcoming and newbie-haters out there.

  • And the development on it is just remarkable, we're getting updates almost daily (knocks on wood)!

  • Pretty fun episode. A highschool rom-com anime is incomplete without a sports/cultural fest episode after all. It was cute seeing Hori and Miyamura struggle with the question of who should they cheer for.

  • Actually, Pixel is the go-to choice for privacy-concious folks as well. That's because the two most secure and private mobile operating systems, Calyx and Graphene, support only the Pixel lineup.

  • They do this even with their A7X series phones, which is priced in the upper mid range / lower flagship category. Not only do they use a lower end chip than their competitors in the same price segment, they have the audacity to give software updates disguised as ads. No amount of money will satisfy these greedy companies.

  • LG Wing.

Love the dual screen functionality of course but what's more impressive is the fact that the 2nd screen is concealed beautifully such that on first glance, you can't even tell that it's not a normal phone! The primary camera is also excellent.

The software is pretty shit. LG sacked their mobile division 2 years ago and while they have kept their promise of giving this phone Android 13, they've done the bare minimum effort to support it. You couldn't even tell it's android 13, has the same UI and features that they shipped with Android 11. The settings app is also inconsistent, some screens have that stock android feel others have the traditional LG UI. And bugs are plenty. The processor is another weak point, it's not able to keep up in 2023.

  • On Firefox. But I do like Brave Search over something like DDG, their AI summarizer is quite good.

  • Five Little Pigs by Agatha Christie

  • Can be installed on Linux, Windows and MacOS. There's an open source client on Android as well. If you don't want the hassle of installation, there's a website: wormhole.app. Claims E2EE and open source algorithm but the client itself is not open source.

  • We do have a functioning govt. It functions to make the rich richer and give them all the freedom in the world, including exploiting the workforce in all ways possible. But hey, at least our economy is #1! Rejoice!

  • ...and TikTok. So many videos there have that logo, I always get annoyed by that.

  • Light has a finite speed. So whatever our eyes see happened in the past. If what you're seeing is near you, light will take just a few nanoseconds to bounce off the object and into your eyes (but it's not instantaneous). If you're looking at the stars in the sky, you may be looking as far as millions of years into the past. We never see the "present".

  • The anime and manga communities are totally silent on Lemmy. Would be great if we can have some weeb juice flowing here as well.
