  • This user is one again lashing out and also manipulating votes using burner accounts.

    https://lemmy.world/comment/15414991

Who knows where else they are manipulating votes.

Edit - Admins took care of the most recent accounts, thanks for that. Though, it once again points to a pattern of behavior that this person is willing to commit. You can see they were doing the same thing here: https://lemmy.world/comment/15274398 and I bet if you look at the upvotes on that comment you'll see they came from sockpuppet accounts.

At this point it's clear this user has been breaking Lemmy.world ToS and evading admin action using this method and they will continue to do so.

Edit 2 - seeing a downvote on this comment now. It seems this person is following me.

Edit 3 - another downvote. This person is now adding harassment to their repertoire of breaking Lemmy.world ToS.

  • Right. I'm not talking about the free service. I'm talking about the paid domain with "unlimited DNS records". That just seems so weird and kind of a red flag. It seems I can't find information about that without an account, either. Also weird and a red flag. But maybe that info is just buried in their site somewhere in the not-so-great design.

  • That is an extremely unhealthy and even dangerous take.

Untreated disorders greatly increases risk of physical and mental health issues. Did you not see the part where OPs parents mistreat them and they even disparage themselves because of an undiagnosed and unaided disorder?

research in the U.S. and elsewhere that has found untreated ADHD raises the risk of serious health problems

    https://www.npr.org/sections/shots-health-news/2025/01/23/nx-s1-5272801/adhd-research-shorter-life-expectancy-attention-deficit-hyperactivity-disorder

And that's just one example. More can easily be found.

Additionally, you are treating neurodivergence as a one-size-fits-all attitude. You may have much more easily manageable symptoms than others. That's like saying "oh I can live without glasses just fine" while your prescription is much lighter than others and the person you're giving advice to could require intense correction.

I think you should seriously reconsider your light-hearted attitude towards other people's issues simply because you feel your own issues are not that serious.

  • "unlimited DNS records"??

That's like saying "I bought a house and I get unlimited door opens"

If you buy a domain you have full access and control over all of it.

A .com domain should only cost around $13/yr USD, and other TLDs can be even cheaper. There's really no good reason to use some service that limits control and access just to save so little.

  • There is only one good answer for this: you need to seek professional help. What you describe is not typical. The behavior from your parents what you describe is abusive and aligns with many people's experiences with disorders and disabilities. From your parent's perspective, they are likely having their own struggles with being the parent of a child with a disorder or disability and being in complete ignorance and denial of that fact or how to deal with it.

  • Perfectly fine advice for a neurotypical person, but OP shows every sign of being neurodivergent of some kind. In that case none of this is helpful and can be actively harmful instead. They need professional help to determine the best kind of help. That's the only good advice that can be given at this point. Anything else can wind up being more harmful than good.

  • The thing about dreams is that not everything is so detailed. Often times your brain literally just imagines the idea of "a song that sounds nice" and maybe fills in small bits and pieces of detail, but the song was never fully imagined just the concept that it sounded nice. It can even do so retroactively after your brain moved on from that part of the dream, which sometimes happens in the brief moment as you wake up while you're still between asleep and awake.

    The brain is weird, yo.

  • if you happen to see them causing more issues

This is an issue for us normal users, though. There is no way of knowing if these people are connected to any bad behavior because they are deleted so quickly. We don't know if they are posting elsewhere or committing vote manipulation. At best, the seemingly few people who happen to be aware of these burner accounts would have to then also happen to stumble upon a bad comment made by a brand new account that is then deleted.

Basically, if this is the only option, then that guarantees that they will continue to get away with any hidden behaviors. Whoever this is has already proven that they are willing to create an account to write rude and accusatory responses to someone who merely points out the burner accounts. Considering how low of a bar that is for such a negative reaction, that establishes their character. I likely would not have looked into this at all if it wasn't for this weird toxic reaction.

Additionally, the sole mod of !comicstrips@lemmy.world seems to be unreliable. When I was looking into why people from lemmy.blajaj.zone could not see the community, I saw a handful of people bring up how slow they are to take any action, if they take any at all. Not to mention they were banned from lemmy.blahaj.zone for refusing to take down a comic that is known for racist, sexist, and transphobic comics as well as straight-up nazi references. An example of their lack of action, the rude comment from this person/group has not been removed. The upvotes on that comment are also suspicious in that it could be them employing vote manipulation.

Moreso, the main concern is not even really that particular community. The concern is what this person/group may be hiding elsewhere behind this behavior. So relying on the moderator of this one community for an issue that could be more widespread.

I'm just asking to look into this a bit more than just waiting for something to pop up, because it's highly unlikely to be noticed entirely because of this weird burner account behavior.
