I agree on that. I'm looking into writting about FOSS funding with examples and proposing solutions for this issue. Just that takes a long time and a meme is easier.

Point is it's not bad to get info even from 10mo ago, we have usefult text from 70s, 80s etc.

Why I made this post is because of a rule here of no memese. The point was to start a discussion about realtionship big tech have with FOSS community. Hence the meme in the first comment. Rules don't approve memese so I posted some video about FOSS funding to post a meme as a first comment.

firefox is not that clear, they get funding by google for putting google as default search engine thus helping google. We have a problem with FOSS funding

I actually like FOSS alot, I don't want big tech taking it over and dictating how things should be done.

I don't want FOSS helping out google, meta, microsoft etc. FOSS is meant for society and people not for companies to make more profit and in process of that destroying society and exploiting people.

EDIT: Just to add, I'm aginst using term open source which is taken over by comapnies and companies use it to wash themself.

Yes, open source is bad term to be used. It only helps corporations and big tech to wash out, it's like osswashing.

How is it glorifying anything of this ?

It's not saying FOSS is a confused mess, but that big tech exploits foss! And yes FOSS can and is making progress without big thech. But big tech is big investor in foss which means it's controlling it and striving to controll it, for example threads and mastodon.

No company will invest money for anything that is not helping their cause. FOSS isn't untouchable to be exempted from critique.
