  • Democrats are still attacking Mamdani

Some elected politicians with a D by their name are.

And frankly I don't think they'll be in office much longer.

Like, as an American who has been paying attention since the DNC defended Bill lying about getting a BJ from an intern:

This is the most optimistic I've been about the Dem party except for the brief window between Obama winning the 08 election, and then him saying he wouldn't name a DNC chair.

I can go on a big rant with details on why we should be optimistic about the party and the country if you want, but if you're ok with recycling I can link you an old comment.

It's fucking weird to spend this much time defending the DNC, but people need to understand the chair is the DNC. And we've got a really fucking good chair since February, and he is already doing shit.

  • That's only when the wealthy own both parties...

They don't control the DNC anymore, and trying to make trump do what you already paid him to do is an exercise in futility.

Shit looks bad for everyone right now, including the wealthy.

Which is why the media is pushing people to disengage from politics.

Don't do what billionaires want you to do, it's never in your favor.

  • Yep. Apparently I was wrong tho, it's 150 not 225.

No idea where I got that from, probably some upper band from somewhere.

Anyway, when trying to figure out why I was wrong, I found an old David Wong article on from before he went batshit and Cracked shit the bed:

    https://www.cracked.com/article_14990_what-monkeysphere.html

Dude really was a great writer back in the day

  • Socialism has been the middle for 99.99% of human existence...

It's the center. The natural organization of a human social group. The problem is our brains can only handle ~225 different individuals. After that we have to categorizes everyone else into groups which makes it easier to dehumanize those groups in modern society.

That's how capitalism became the norm in large societies

If you're wealthy and you everyone you interact with is wealthy...

Our brains are wired to stop giving a fuck about people not in that small ~225 circle of people.

  • He can go back to the McKinsey foundation...

The biggest danger to the Dem party is someone like Pete winning the primary. Hed put the old guard back in power over the party and bend to American oligarchs.

But it's a very open field:

A June Emerson College Polling survey, published on Friday, finds Buttigieg, who is gay, leading the Democratic field with support from 16 percent of likely primary voters. Former Vice President Kamala Harris, who once dominated early polling, has slipped to 13 percent, followed closely by California Gov. Gavin Newsom at 12 percent.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and New York U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez each earn 7 percent, while Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders captures 5 percent and New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker 3 percent. Nearly one in four Democratic voters, 23 percent, remain undecided.

I've been all for Bernie since 2015, but I hope he doesn't run either. I'm honestly surprised to see he still got 5%, but if he does the smart thing and sits this out, I'd imagine he endorses AOC.

  • All of them had earlier signs than the general public about Biden's mental issues

But they didn't give a fuck until it was undeniable to the general public.

Especially Schumer tho, he didn't act until the very lose possible second after they'd already shut down the primary

We could have had Biden sorted and sidelined with plenty of time for a fair primary.

  • Because the other billionaires who own the media really really really want to avoid progressives accomplishing anything.

So now that neoliberals are out of control of the DNC, the media isn't going to have many good things to say about the DNC.

I'd say that's obviously, but holy shit some days I feel like I'm explaining it to the same 12 people who just can't fucking grasp that billionaire owned media favors billionaires.

Like, could you imagine someone falling for that dumb shit and getting mad at anyone other than the fucking Nazi in your gif and the media system defending fascism

  • For all the money he has, the only political influence he ever had was through Trump.

    No, you're right ..

I completely forgot money doesn't play a roll in the American political system

    /S

Like, what kind of logic are you using that makes you think money just doesn't fucking matter?

    Especially in Republican primaries?

I dunno, maybe there's some I missed, but what you just said....

  • It's a Republican that's not voting how trump wants, specifically the budget.

So trump made an entire PAC to primary him, now Musk is backing him against Trump's pac.

And apparently Musk is gonna make a 3rd party if the budget passes?

Which would be amazing. If Musk and Trump both have their own parties, it just splits the Republican vote. Regardless of policy, no one is switching from D to either of those asshats.

  • Ignoring the odd idea that this hypothetical person is somehow completely unemployable regardless of industry or upskilling

You're so stuck in a capitalist mindset that you view people being "unemployable" as a personal failure on their part, rather than a success of society as a whole....

Were you out there screaming "think of the children" and "they can do anything they put their mind to" when people banded together to say maybe 7 year old children don't have to work in the fucking coal mines anymore?

  • I think the issue is the study treated it as a binary thing...

Handedness isn't binary, very few things are when talking about human anatomy.

Like, 4 wheel drive is an equal 50/50 split. Then obviously full front/rear drive.

But "all wheel drive" can be anything from 80/20 to 60/40, or theoretically any random ratio.

So while people who prefer their left hand. There's a difference between a sleight preference and someone who's right hand is so useless it's easier to hold a guitar upside down.

Those people at the extreme end may be more creative when isolated out as a subgroup

  • People ignore how many women hate women.

Lots of them have the mindset that every woman is completion, just like lots of men see it.

Women (not dissing your wife) can be fucking awful.

And just like some men can fall victim to that line of thinking and say prejudiced shit without meaning to, so can women.

Like, sure, it's undeniable that AOC is attractive. But I've had loads of platonic friends who were more attractive than she is. Above all else we're all just human, it's fucking played out to assume physical appearance is always the most important quality.

Baddies can be more than one thing

  • Look around and ask yourself whether this country would ever, ever, EVER elect a woman.

Kamala and Hillary combined had zero charisma, ran policy Dem voters hated...

    And still almost won.

So yeah, a charismatic woman with popular policy would win.

  • The best part of Ironman was him locked in a cave with junk...

It got boring when every movie he'd pull 10 billion dollar suits out of his ass that we'd never heard of before.

"Ironman but no money" is 100x more interesting than Tony Stark.

The first couple episodes are out, it's decent.

And honestly, any half decent show that pisses off racists gets my "views" even if I'm not really paying attention.

  • The patriarchy is insane in the USA.

Two of the last three presidential elections have had a woman candidate...

There was a laundry list of valid policy based reasons why the last two women lost, and they barely lost.

How the fuck does that make you think no woman in America could manage a win?

  • Weird how sexism is only a reason a woman can't run when she's a progressive...

Also weird how the people saying a woman can't run are the ones calling people sexist for saying a woman can be president.

Anything except admitting neoliberalism is dead I guess

  • Nope

I just understand that while that was going on the current chair was running Minnesota.

And we can look at that track record, that ran all the way up to assuming DNC chair...

    And his actions since...

And logically conclude blaming the current DNC for that old shit makes as much sense as boycotting the Cincinnati Reds cuz Pete Rose didn't call your mom back after a date.

The person you're upset with has no affiliation to the current organization you're boycotting.
