  • Welcome to real life bro...

The victor writes the history books, so the only time the "bad guys" win, is before a revolution to explain why the asshats had to be overthrown in the first place. Virtually no country has labeled themselves the bad guys in a present moment.

Damn near every war, both sides are assholes. Situations like Ukraine are the abnormality, and Gaza isn't a war, it's a genocide against a civilian population.

Real life is messy. Especially when the guy in charge of the world's biggest military is best described as a horse loose in a hospital...

  • Haven't been keeping a close eye, but anybody is better than Cuomo

Mamdani has been endorsed by AOC, and seems to be who the rest of the progressives are coalescing around.

Even with ranked choice, Cuomo and Weiner are going to split the neoliberal sex pest vote.

  • For fucks sake leave Biden alone.

Bringing him up only hurts the Dem party.

It doesn't matter if Biden is slightly better than trump. There's no gentleman's agreement that when Republicans run a shitty candidate the majority of Americans hate, that Dems need to do the same.

Progressive policy is overwhelming popular, and we got a good number of politicians who authentically support those popular positions.

That's who we need to be talking about. Not running PR for a geriatric that fucked us over and probably bears more personal responsibility for trump being president than anyone else in the country

If Biden's old ass would have let a fair primary happen, whoever won it would have easily beaten trump. But he put himself over the country, like countless neoliberals have before him.

    Quick edit:

Thought this was the first time I'd disagree with the new chair, but bringing up Biden was all the author, Martin doesn't mention him once:

“In January — speaking to the entire nation at his Inauguration – Donald Trump proclaimed ‘We will measure our success not only by the battles we win, but also by the wars that we end, and perhaps most importantly, the wars we never get into.’

Today, against his own words, the president sent bombers into Iran.

Americans overwhelmingly do not want to go to war.

Americans do not want to risk the safety of our troops abroad.

Americans do not want a president who bypasses our constitution and pulls us towards war without Congressional approval.

Donald Trump needs to bring his case to Congress immediately.”

Eventually I'll disagree with Martin on something, but he's killing it so far. I'm even optimistic enough to see this part:

  • What's crazy about this whole thing, is how many people I see insenting this can't be WW3, solely because there have been multiple events happening that people said could lead to WW3...

Like, think of it as placing straw on the back of a camel.

Eventually you're going to get to the point where lots of people say another straw will break it. That's just reality, it can't hold an infinite amount of straw.

Now imagine how ridiculous you'd be for walking up when the camel can barely stand, and loudly and proudly telling everyone the camel's back will never break, because people have been saying it would happen for the past hour.

Rather than realizing that some people would guess early to be safe, because guessing late means your break the camels back and are shit out of luck.

trumps going to keep throwing straw till the camels a bloody heap, the man has never shown restraint in his life. It's a matter of when, not if.

So if it doesn't happen after this, it doesn't mean it'll never happen, just that were even closer than before.

  • This study explores the relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and workers’ well-being and health using longitudinal survey data from Germany (2000–2020).

It's crazy the AI bros will say that this means AI is safe...

But then ask them how much AI has improved since 2020 and without a shred of realization they'll tell you only an idiot would compare 2020 AI to 2025 AI...

Like, it's not the study's fault. It's the fault of anyone trying to apply it to modern AI.

  • Russia needs Iranian weapons for Ukraine, and they can't get them if Iran has to use them their selves and can't make more if production facilities are destroyed...

I'm honestly surprised it hasn't happened yet.

Russia could just shrug and claim no one knows how Iran has them, no one is going to hold them accountable for it.

  • Yeah. They don't need to ship a whole ICBM, they just need to move the payload.

Which if you wanted to, could fit on a normal truck.

NK shares borders with Russia and China, Russia would 100% let them smuggle a nuke thru Russia.

Russia and Iran don't share a border, but can move it easily over the Caspian Sea without having to involve 3rd party customs.

So yeah, it could easily happen

  • It depends where you are...

In Europe (primarily the UK) they sell tiny plots like that because it comes with a lordship.

So you can buy a lordship and token tiny square of land.

But they do that for the title, doing it just for land...

    I dunno.

The only way I could see people go for it is if trump sells national Parks and people use this method to maintain it in its natural state.

  • Yeah. That's literally the whole point of "the cloud" it can be anywhere.

The EU has lots of places with available renewable energy.

Hook up a couple servers to some dams. With "free" electricity it'll be almost impossible to not end up being cheaper than Amazon in the long run.

Like, I'm struggling to see how this would be a bad thing long term. Relying on American corporations just isn't a rational choice anymore

  • This is a weird case because the p320 did pass the required drop test.

You drop it X amount of times, from Y height, at A, B, and C angles.

The p320 won't go off, and passes the test

But drop it from a couple inches higher, at a specific (but not tested) angle... And it might go off.

The problem, like usual, is cops.

Cops always have a shit ton of negligent discharges. So when people said a p320 can just "go off" every negligent discharge with a p320 was blamed on the gun. Even when the incident was on camera and didn't involve a drop.

Cops just lie about shit instinctively.

  • You want Republicans to join with Democrats to vote Schumer out of Minority Senate leadership?

I just want to make sure that's really what you're saying and this isn't one of those things where an autocorrect changed the sentence...

  • Schumer and Jeffries have their position because neoliberals controlled the DNC and thru the victory fund the funding of most state parties.

So going against them on any topic, but especially Israel's various genocides would cost you your seat, or your whole state their funding

Neoliberals kept a gun firmly planted to the party's head and dared anyone to think they wouldn't pull the trigger

But they don't have the DNC anymore, and with "fight everywhere" essentially doing the opposite of the victory fund.

Schumer and Jeffries don't have a chance in hell of retaining leadership positions.

  • so it seems a lot like brain damage removes your empathy or makes you a greedy war mongering asshole.

    It can be good tho...

It all depends on what gets damaged and what you're starting off with.

In general the bits at the front by your forehead regulate impulses, so losing that makes you more of an asshole. That's also where empathy happens.

The first parts by your spine generate those impulses, so damage there could chill someone who's already an asshole.

It doesn't take damage tho, with like 15 minutes of training anyone can predict political leanings from a normal brain scan with I er 80% accuracy.

It's not a permanent difference, the brain can change well into old age.

But as a general rule, the left uses their front brain. The right uses their hind brain.

And our brain is like a muscle. What we use often gets bigger and more active.

  • The reason was he grifted the grifters.

He frauduantly claimed to have $x donations already, which got him $y from the RNC.

Then he won the primary with just the $y.

If it wasn't for that, he'd still be in office.

  • Why deal with Ubisoft BS on PCs and their Client. Where older games force you to sign in to play them. When I could just have them on one box.

Yeah, but the advantage of PC is games "last longer" graphically.

Old games like those on PC you can max out all the settings and even use mods to further enhance it.

On an old console, you'll always be playing at the same graphics it was released with
