So better to have millions with no healthcare at all, dying at a far younger age than need be?

    You know nothing young padawan.

  • @ME5SENGER24 @BrikoX

Same as whistleblower protection in words alone with zero action to back it.

  • @MapleEngineer

I grew up in Saskabush, have lived in Alberta (and BC & Ontario) and currently live in Manitoba.

You're right on the money with your assessment.

  • @btaf45

The super-shitification by sold-out governments and the H U G E fossil fuel industry against 50+ years of scientific climate change warnings hasn't forced any changes, it's unlikely watching it play out will do anything. In fact all we're seeing now is even more drilling operations beginning and even less care about the human cost.

At this point we can only hope for the best and prepare for the worst because we ain't seen nothing yet.

    with apologies to Cory Doctorow

All of them ... or at least most of them. The numbers given are based on limited variables and almost never include qualifiers like proper tire pressure must be maintained, easy acceleration vs flooring it, usage of AC, etc etc ... which all affect fuel consumption rates.

New Oxfam research finds that just 125 billionaires are each responsible for one million times more greenhouse gas emissions than the average person. from here https://www.oxfamamerica.org/explore/stories/who-is-responsible-for-climate-change/

When carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels, flaring, and cement production are ranked by nation, "the US is by far the largest historical emitter, responsible for over 20% of all emissions, and the EU is close behind". from here https://www.technologyreview.com/2022/11/18/1063443/responsible-climate-change-charts/

Now, yes. But it didn't used to be. Prior to Jack Layton shifting the NDP to center-left the party continuously battled against the neo-liberal politics of both the Tory and Liberals.

I mean just consider if Canada had stayed in a for-profit healthcare system ... do we actually think any one of those 3, or for that matter any provincial gov't, would now be seeking to implement universal healthcare like the NDP's Tommy Douglas did in Saskatchewan?

  • @Hazdaz @Ragnell

Keeping on someone who's being lazy is in no way, shape or form the same as retaining a murderer.

  • @OrangeCorvus @snooggums

I understand your personal experience forms the basis of your opinion but the fact is it only happened once to your friend, whereas Spacey has (and continues to) face multiple accusations from multiple people from multiple nations. That is not just a one-off.

  • @PatFussy

Provide proof on your take first. Otherwise I will consider you dead on the floor, so unable to offer any knowledge whatsoever.

  • @Showroom7561

I found that people want to safe first, and shelters don't always guarantee that.
