This is a dangerous catch-22 because televising the trial will only help his followers who will not see the truth being put forward, only finding more reason to believe in his "martyrdom" bullshit.

As it stands we have multiple top-notch journalists from world-wide news sites reporting on what happens, and imo that's good enough.

Jean-Loup Samaan - Well, first, historically, the US started cooperating with Israel on air defense in the 1980s. So when missile defense became a significant component of defense investment in the US, Israel was very quickly involved. There’s a history of close ties between both countries in that field. So it would seem, in a sense, natural that a consequence of that is to support something like Iron Dome.

I think it was around the end of Obama’s first term, in 2012, that the US put a stronger emphasis on Iron Dome in terms of budgeting. I believe it was probably not just the politics behind it, but also the strategic assessment that the priority is to protect and to strengthen the defense of Israel vis-à-vis these types of rockets.

Tillett’s “overly aggressive conduct” and “misuse of the powers of his judicial office … brought the judiciary into disrepute and threatened public faith and confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary,” the Judicial Standards Commission wrote.

The chasm in sentencing is beyond understanding ... a brown man steals $85k and gets 3 years while a white doctor steals $5.5 million and gets 8 years. How does that make any sense at all?

In 1963 President John F. Kennedy signs the Community Mental Health Act to provide federal funding for the construction of community-based preventive care and treatment facilities. Between the Vietnam War and an economic crisis, the program was never adequately funded (this is the last bill JFK signs before his death)

In 1965, with the passage of Medicaid, states are incentivized to move patients out of state mental hospitals and into nursing homes and general hospitals because the program excludes coverage for people in “institutions for mental diseases.”

The California Legislature passes the Lanterman-Petris-Short Act in 1967, which makes involuntary hospitalization of mentally ill people vastly more difficult. One year after the law goes into effect, the number of mentally ill people in the criminal-justice system doubles.

President Jimmy Carter signs the Mental Health Systems Act in 1980, which aims to restructure the community mental-health-center program and improve services for people with chronic mental illness.

Under President Ronald Reagan in 1981, the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act repeals Carter’s community health legislation and establishes block grants for the states, ending the federal government’s role in providing services to the mentally ill. Federal mental-health spending decreases by 30 percent.
