  • Maybe if Congress stopped automatically green-lighting every military expenditure request without question, instead of demanding concise monthy reports on service/equipment purchases AND verified location, the US taxpayer could feel confident that their leadership actually gives a shit about them.

  • Yup. The recent discord release of top secret documents showed everyone how lax security really is.

  • ... the officer is now recommending “sanctions of penalties by the Senate” against MacDonald.

Good. He seems to be following in the steps of Mike Duffy, Mac Harb, Pamela Wallin, Patrick Brazeau and Lynn Beyak ... all (except Harb) appointed by Stephen Harper.

Conservatives have a history of showing their true colours after being appointed to the Senate.

  • Stop grabbing that fancy coffee on his way to wor ... er ... oh right, he works from home.

Dunno how the poor dear will survive then.

  • And yet current worldwide politics shows us it does work for the benefit of politicians, military juntas and Big Business.

Time to eat the rich for real.

  • True. I simply miss the days of independent journalism where news media outlets were not owned en masse by rich, elitest, primarily white dudes who control how and what news is reported.

Tbh if Watergate were to happen today I somewhat doubt that Woodward and Bernstein (and WaPo) would have the funding AND freedom to dig as deep as they did.

  • Would love to see a breakdown that shows how many of the starts are affordable housing units, because as it stands if they're mostly/all for-profit it doesn't help much at all.

  • Australian media saying the quiet part out loud.

As the privatisation craze swept the developed world in the 1990s, governments looked around to sell almost anything that wasn't bolted down, until they discovered the bolted-down stuff was worth even more.

But to extract the best sale price for the assets, governments began including clauses that effectively guaranteed a decent annual return, regardless of how the economy was performing.

  • Did you read the link? Because that was what the guy who saved the calf said. I was simply quoting him.

  • Why did he decide to rescue the calf, and why did he say it was a good thing instead of leaving it?

  • Please read the article. It refutes some of what you've said here.

  • The article states the guy has knowledge, doesn't state he was driving 100 kph, and does say the calf was a female so he saved multiple generations of moose.

Please take time to read the article before commenting.

  • I try all the time, in this institution And I pray, oh my god do I pray! I pray every single day For revolution

    4 non blondes - what's up

  • What proof do you have it's probably false? The article clearly has a big "if" in the last paragraph concerning the validity of the leaked memo.

If you have no facts to back your opinion, it's worth far less than this article.

  • Never believe anyone who says size doesn't matter.

  • In 2000-03 I was a weather observer at a regional airport in Ontario and completed my training in Hamilton. One of my classmates was a trained meteorologist. They told us that large manufacturers often head-hunted meteorology graduates so the company would know when they could burn banned substances through their stacks (where the wind would move the toxins away from sensors).

This has been going on for decades and everyone knew about it.
