You mean the Hillary Clinton who said that it was okay to have different public versus private opinions on things, as an elected official, who got PAID to give speeches to wall Street, who used her influence to get the apparatchiks of the party to tip the scales in 2016 to ensure that SHE would be the nominee instead of an anti neo liberal who could have put up an amazing contrast to djt instead of her neoliberal centrism? The one who insisted that SHE needed to be president, and who very much helped us to get into the situation we find ourselves in today? Oh, cool. I am very much interested in what she has to say, because of course she holds the interests of the country above her own

If Reed Brody is criticizing Ortega then that is a bad sign I can see the deeper situation, that this is really just hardening the Nicaraguan government against external meddling, which is a BIG thing in Nicaragua. That said, it would be impressive if the Nicaraguan government could find a better way to do that

Once upon a time I got called a terrorist WHILE I was performing on a community theater stage. The bright spot was how quickly my fellow actors and the rest of the patrons shut that down

I live across the country from Florida senator Anger-issues. Having a conversation in the phone with someone who even works in his office is way better than doing nothing. I am saying that it might be good to connect on a human level to express concern. You do you, though. Tell me how it goes visiting his office?

Be interesting if, instead of commenting here, it was more common to just look up the phone number of a public servant, call their office, and express ones concern for the mental health of the senator. One may end up speaking with a member of the senators staff, but it sure seems more meaningful than commenting here, especially if one is able to remain civil while doing so. Might mean something to a person who actually works with the senator if people were to demonstrate proper human behavior in contrast to horrible actions.

I'm sorry, but are you saying rape, murder of a spouse, child abuse, etc. are somehow due to the existence of policing? Is there any way you can possibly make me believe that? Please try, if you can, 'cause otherwise I'm just gonna think that I read some MORE total nonsense on the intent today

It's almost as if that cop has lost some of his humanity. Auderer, I mean. While this may be something that people can write off as "part of the job" it is unacceptable. Auderer needs to be put on indefinite mental health leave, and the rest of us need to have a long conversation about how we got here and what we're going to do about it

Uhhh, speaking as someone who has physically put his body in the way of cops trying to rob people of their civil rights, many times, doing so while accepting that cops do fulfill a societal need (and thus being completely non violent towards said cops), the idea that there is a utopia where "the laws" will not be in conflict with "the people" is a very, very difficult thing to even start to imagine. Can you describe such a situation, even in one instance?
