  • They're allowed to give the tenants one month notice if they or their immediate family are moving in but yeah outside of that they just inherit the lease as is.

If they do that and then rent it out within 6(?) months they have to pay the tenants 12 months of rent... IF the tenants can prove it and then take the landlord to court. So not ideal eitherway.

  • Honestly sometimes people just need to vent their frustrations and aren't interested in immediately starting a new project to solve their problems. This applies to life in general not just Linux.

  • Furthermore, if the manufacturer wants to pretend that they're selling you a perpetual license to use the hardware or whatever legal bullshit they came up with on the back of a cocktail napkin between lines of coke then they can't advertise using the words buy, own or anything similar without explicitly indicating in the largest font that you aren't the owner of the product.

  • A PAC is a political action committee. You can only donate $3300 to a politician but if you donate 33 million to a PAC that pac can advertise, organise and campaign on the politicians behalf. Effectively sidestepping political donation laws.

  • What about using it to generate model textures instead of buying overpriced bloatware from the unity store that's probably stolen anyway?

They should probably either learn to texture, use free public domain textures, purchase some ready made texture packs from an artist, or pay a texture artist who doesn't deserve to be out of a job because of a techbro plagiarism machine.

Generative AI is some seriously cool tech but the fact that it's built off of plagiarised content and that it's being used to undercut workers is not a vibe.

  • Passive aggressively wagging your finger at people who haven't committed completely to veganism won't empty any cages. Convincing people to reduce their consumption peacemeal will. It sounds like you care more about the sense of self satisfaction than you do about the animals being harmed though so go off.

  • There's also a lot of difference in mocap vs traditional animation. When characters are animated they follow certain principles that aren't realistic but result in pleasant and entertaining movement. Real humans and creatures don't behave this way.

So when animators are working on live action films they have to carefully balance the adherence to these principles with the realism of the scene.

There's obviously liberties taken (the mocap data is always cleaned up before being applied to a character) but think of the difference between an explosion in a Michael Bay film vs one caught on someone's camera in real life.
