  • risk that future sufficiency cases

This seems to be the real issue. The goal is to suppress minority voters because if they all vote republican are done.

Cases of long prison terms amplify the other voter suppression efforts. Here's a complex process, and if you make a mistake, you go to prison. That'll keep many people from voting.

  • It refutes more than just playing dumb. It also confirms that all of his magic declassification excuses are bullshit and he knows it. He also used promises of a pardon to convince the guy to do things that both knew were illegal. Textbook definition of criminal conspiracy and corruption.

  • It's not criminal for a publication to bury or promote stories, but the fact that they are admitting to just making shit up with malicious intent opens up all sorts of lawsuits.

I bet that there's a bunch of civil lawyers all chubbed up right now thinking about all of the libel and fraud cases that they can bring.

The other thing to remember is that the case is not about influencing elections. It's about cooking the books to hide the payouts. They are only using this guy to show that Cohen was the bag man for funneling payments in this scheme. This refutes Trumps claim that all payments were for legal services.

  • It doesn't sound like it was released.

It seems like stuff from jury selection questions that some court audience members noted. The court already blocked recording.

They remove the audience, but that's a double-edged sword since no public transparency even for reporters would fuel all of the conspiracy crap and there would be no information available to debunk. This is Trumps wet dream. Being able to spout pure fantasy with nobody to rebut.

Best solution would be for the judge to clamp down to say that he will charge anyone who leaks any jury info with contempt.

  • One of the things that they are filling frivolous motions about are a procedural order to limit a flood of last-minute frivolous filings to try to delay the case.

They can't really tell him to STFU because that would give him actual grounds for appeal, but they can enforce established deadlines to file stuff. Like the deadline to consider immunity that past a long time ago, which lets them immediately reject the claim now.

  • Ethics sounds trivial. Wasn't this the failed coup that Trump tried to pull off inside the justice department?

This was some mid-level guy who was going to illegally threaten Georgia on behalf of the DOJ, and in return, Trump was going install him as the puppet head of DOJ because the people in charge would not illegally take actions without any actual evidence.

  • My conspiracy theory is that it's a hoax made up by the tourism boards of the cities along the path as a way to drum up more business.

Let's face it, nobody actually would want to go to Cleveland without the eclipse.
