  • A capitalism casino that somehow rules the entire economy*

    * or at least many people’s view of it

  • So the reason you don’t recommend Lemmy is a bot that you can block if you don’t like it? That seems a little much, IMO

  • As someone who raised this issue, I want to thank the mods for addressing this. The MBFC bot aside, I think this will also cut down on dupes, as I’ve seen numerous times where an article was shared twice- once from the OG source and then another version from MSN or Yahoo news.

And for users who want to check the source of something, it does make it easier to fact check for yourself.

Who knows, it might even slow down certain profligate posters who obviously just take every link in a news aggregator and share it (and then brush off every comment with a “I didn’t write the article…) 😉

  • God, your reading comprehension keeps tanking doesn’t? Read what I read again and tell me where I asked for anything from you.

  • And which you have yet to explain or talk to what made them interesting to you, despite multiple inquiries. Almost like it’s not a true statement.

  • As you don’t engage in any good faith discussion of anything you post and have had numerous posts/comments removed for forms of trolling and just coming off a temp community ban for a form of trolling, I don’t think your input is needed and certainly wasn’t asked for.

If I wanted to go to the mods, I would - as I have done before about you and other matters, as you know. I was simply commenting in the hopes that someone maybe had a different perspective or suggestion on it. If you, as usual, don’t have anything constructive to add, maybe don’t reply to folks with inanities.

  • I really wish we had a rule about posts that mention polling, but don’t link to the polling. Probably impossible to moderate but it’s really low-quality journalism.

What’s ironic is the article links several other polling sources, but not the one it mentions in the headline.

  • Always frustrates me how underutilized @media print is. Always liked crafting some good CSS for it on sites, especially ones that I worked on that were document heavy.

  • A recent Financial Times report quotes Palantir executive Alex Karp, a Silicon Valley bigwig who still backs Democrats but whose loyalty is wavering: “Political correctness in the party is a huge problem, the Democrats can’t yet understand the cost of it.” [emphasis added]

What I love about anyone who complains about “political correctness” is that it fundamentally frames it as being simply performative rather than “hey, don’t be an asshole”. It never seems to occur to them that some people honestly feel you shouldn’t be a dick, and instead just think people are doing it as virtue signaling. Sadly that kind of lack of empathy is rife with the tech bros.

  • Spoken like a true main character. So your input was essentially “I have no opinion”? Thank goodness you cleared that up for us, bud!

Remember that’s not “charactor” - I know you have trouble with that one.

  • So no intent to have genuine good faith engagement? You’re just ding dong ditching and running away - except you stick around and discuss everything other than the articles you share.

  • Wasn’t asking you and I have no idea why anyone would care about your specific input. This was a suggestion based on the source of the article, not the fact you posted it.

  • So I’ll ask again: can you say what specifically you found interesting about this article in particular? i.e. what did you find newsworthy about it.

  • @jordanlund@lemmy.world Can we get a rule about no articles from aggregators (e.g. MSN & Yahoo News) as it essentially breaks the MBFC bot? It also essentially hides duplicates.

  • So is there a reason all your news seems to originate from Yahoo and MSN news aggregators? Would expect a committed socialist to eschew such bourgeoisie sources. Perhaps you’d get a more positive reception if you didn’t post such dreck sources?

  • It continues to surprise me how a “socialist” like the OP keeps finding and sharing articles from the Washington Examiner. It’s like the Washington Times, but somehow much worse. I could understand it if it was a conservative leaning quality publication, but it’s essentially just a fascist Weekly World News.

  • Source? I know that was a comic run but hadn’t seen any coverage on that in regards to the MCU. Plus, are there even “Avengers” to kill right now in the MCU?

  • Ah, totally missed Joaquin in the TV show! Thanks!

My own theory is that this movie is going to relate to the asterisk in “Thunderbolts*” and is leading up to Secret Avengers based on the timing of when they come out

  • Isaiah Bradley was actually already in the TV show and there’s a clip of him in the trailer
