Firefox and Mozilla to a larger extent may be going down the gutter soon. They have been angling towards AI shit, and then their new terms of service debacle this last week makes it clear they want to sell your data for ads.
I've moved from FF to Zen browser, which is a fork. And also Librewolf, another fork.
I have a friends Discord I set up a year before Covid, and for about a year only 3 people used it, mainly to play some games together.
But when Covid hit, it obviously gained some traction. And now it's THE place I interact with friends since I've long ditched the likes of Facebook.
I keep going back and forth on whether or not to possibly set up a Mastodon server for friends. The hardest part would be convincing people to use it. But it could just be like our little shared space that could still interact with the wider world. It'd be kinda cool to have a Local feed be just people you know in real life.
Now that it has been three years, while I'd like to have one, I feel like I'll just wait until whatever the next version is - even if that means waiting another year or so.
I don't need one, particularly, and I don't want to be caught at the tail end of this hardware.
This is just funny. A big part of the conservative movement is pointing at other people and calling them “snowflakes” when they are the biggest bitches on the planet.
The Americans that already like trump only listen to/watch media that will NEVER tell them what he's doing is illegal. That media only reinforces their own views that brown people are bad, and anything to hurt them will help the white Americans - even if all this illegal stuff hurts the white Americans, too.
What’s also wild to me is if these were buddies of Jesus, they had this story of his birth, then nothing for thirty years, then a couple things, then death.
Where are all the stories about teenage Jesus doing sick jumps off a camel or whatever? We are missing a few decades of knowledge about this supposed most important person ever.
I remember when I learned all the gospels were written decades after the “fact.”
I can’t remember what I ate for lunch yesterday, and we are supposed to believe people played a game of telephone for a few decades and got everything correct when writing it down?
They won’t shut down anything and then say, “See? We work across the aisle!”
No one will remember or care. And in two years they’ll lose more ground, and we’ll have another 100 think pieces on “What the Democrats Did Wrong.”
I’m not saying shutting down the government is the answer that’ll solve all the problems. But as better people have said: the democrats are over here looking in the rule book to see if a dog can play basketball while the republicans are dunking over and over.
They have to figure out a better way to combat a group actively tearing down the government illegally. I don’t know what that is. But also I wasn’t elected to find out. They were. So they need to figure it out.
