  • Maybe one of the features they thought about is how some Android phones install Facebook and other crapware that you may not be able to delete.

  • And according to the papers: “The economy is good. This is how that’s bad for Biden.”

  • When I become a billionaire I hope you guys don’t let me become just a trash human like basically every billionaire.

  • Because of basically ALL printer manufacturers. I know people like Brother printers, generally, but why pay something like $60-100 for a printer when you only need to use one a few times a year?

For me the cost savings are pretty huge.

  • This is why for the one or two times I need to print something a year I just go to the library and pay them $0.10 a page to print something out.

  • Only 3,300 surveyed? Come on, Pew, get those numbers up.

    Still a good sign.

  • I bought a 2014 Mac Mini for $60 a couple months ago. It still runs just fine, and literally yesterday it got a new security update. That's ten years of support.

People can make fun of Apple for myriad things, but not supporting their devices is not one of them.

  • Oh this is interesting.

I’ve used an external keyboard for a while now and never had any issues with keys activating things I didn’t want, but I did just check that accessibility setting and I have that turned off so that makes sense.

  • I’m curious about what their definition of “engaged” is. I imagine most people don’t make comments on YouTube videos, but twitter’s main focus has always been posting and commenting on others’ posts.

  • I use my ipad with a trackpad a lot, and often with stage manager on an external display. Youtube doesn't play well with that set up. Oddly it'll switch which background color to show (like from dark to light) and as a result the text can get unreadable because the text doesn't always switch with it. The chat/info panes sometimes won't work when you click on them. I've had it not let me click the share button because the share button wouldn't load.

And, yes, Stage Manager is somewhat a niche use case, I suppose. But this isn't a mom and pop app dev. It's google.

Even out of Stage Manager, they don't support the cursor targets like apps are supposed to (maybe they are just using one build and shipping everywhere and hoping for the best). PiP sometimes doesn't work well, and you have to kill the app and restart.

They should do better with one of their flagship apps, is all I'm saying. And Apple, honestly, should do better on their end with stuff like this. They don't even have all native apps built for the Vision Pro that comes out in a couple weeks. It's like, you're the most profitable company on the planet and you don't even bother. It's crazy.

  • Since the Android tablet space has been garbage for the last decade, I would assume they’d have at least put in some work to make the iPad app pretty solid.

But I don’t disagree with what you are saying, really. However, if a janky iPad is what they think will make people jump to Android, I have a bridge to sell them.

  • I don’t have faith Google could even make a good app for the device considering the iPad YouTube app is janky as shit and it’s been on the platform for years.

  • Looks a little...rough.

But I also just finished Alan Wake 2 so maybe I'm viewing through a skewed lens right now.

  • Severance is the best show on there in my opinion. It's the most wild and "new" feeling show. Something I'd never seen before type of stuff.

My dark horse pick for one of the best comedies on there is a show called Trying. It's about a couple trying to adopt a child. I personally have never wanted kids, but this show has a ton of heart and it's really funny. No one talks about it, but I love it.

Defending Jacob is a pretty good show about a family who has a kid that may or may not have done a pretty terrible crime. Chris Evans stars as an attorney caught up in the case. Does he follow the law or defend his son?

If you have a good TV, some of the nature docs are good, too. There's one narrated by Paul Rudd about tiny animals, and it's super pretty.

  • I mean, does anyone expect any nation to say they are doing some genocide?
