  • You’re welcome!

When you die in this game there’s no real penalty other than going back to the last checkpoint. So even if you leveled up or something you keep that, you just might go back a few screens. It’s great!

  • I don’t use steam too much, but I did get Minishoot Adventures, and it’s excellent.

It’s like if Zelda was a bullet hell. The base difficulty isn’t too hard, but it’s challenging enough. And you get to explore and do dungeons. It’s really fun.

  • Don’t tell Nintendo I played Star Fox today at 120fps.

  • Had Twitter added a paid tier early on as it scaled up - when it was still largely the only short form blogging platform - we could potentially have avoided...so much shit we now live in. Twitter was never profitable, so it just kept adding ads until that wasn't sustainable. And then dipshit bought it and really turned it into the nazi place.

Twitter always had problems, but I think we can generally agree it wasn't a pretty good service for lots of things. Breaking news, sports, even science, etc. It had actual (not amazing, but existing) moderation. There's maybe a world out there where a Twitter that isn't owned by some idiot doesn't help influence an election that we now have to deal with for decades to come.

That's all wishful thinking, of course, and Twitter is not THE REASON the U.S. is trash. But there was a path where Twitter didn't turn into just Truth Social 2.0.

Adding a paid tier to Bluesky might sound like "enshitification," but if it simply keeps the company afloat then there's potentially less chance of it becoming Twitter 2.0, so to speak. Otherwise, there's probably a straight path to ads then creditors calling in debts then selling then elon just buys it, too.

  • I wish the media would not hang on every turd this asshole shits out on social media.

  • I love that on SNL last night the mention of Luigi on Weekend Update was met with enough cheers that made Colin Jost have to stop and wait for the cheers to die down before telling his joke.

  • All that wasted energy for products no one asked for that are objectively trash.

  • I feel like if you ask any nurse they know of at least a few doctors in their hospital that may be brilliant at their specific field but absolute dumbasses anywhere else. And often doctors - because they have a doctorate - think they are delicate geniuses themselves (shoutout Seinfeld).

Like redding33 said: Ben Carson is very stupid, but he can separate conjoined twins like no other.

  • "a neurohormone associated with the flight-or-fight response"

Huh, I wonder what could have caused this response??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  • Oh, I get it now.

These "mysterious drones" have all been flying from the police this entire time so articles like this will be written which in turn helps the police get more funding.

Then the moment the police get their kill drones they'll somehow solve the case!

(This is all tinfoil hat nonsense, of course)

  • I keep having this feeling like all these GOP idiots think musk is really super duper smart because he can at a really basic level speak in some technical terms they just don't understand. So as a result they think he's just sooo smart.

This is a party full of ancient people. "A series of tubes" party. So anyone who has a little bit of technical knowledge will sound like a wizard to them with the bonus that they might be able to grift off of it all.

Or musk is just a rich asshole and they all want to be rich assholes so they cozy up to him.

  • “We made Siri faster but each request now drains a lake.”

  • For me the best new feature on macOS is the ability to natively put the temperature in the menu bar. You click on it, and it gives you some more info and from there can launch the full weather app.

It's a small addition and could have been there for a decade, but I like it a lot.

  • I like Bluesky, but I don't disagree with this. When I started there last year it was A LOT of furry art and furry stuff. And they have every right to do all that. Go to town; I don't care. But I also don't really want to see it all over my feed(s).

I ended up subscribing to a list that mutes a ton of furry stuff, and that's really helped clean up the feed.

  • genAI is currently very stupid, and each new version is having diminishing returns on what the models can provide.

I'm really not that worried, though some jobs may shift to instead of simply doing the job the worker will be required to fix all the mistakes the genAI came up with.

  • The "states rights" people surely will be happy about this!

  • Perhaps companies should have “rainy day” funds in case of a downturn like they tell average citizens.
