4 Canadians too. Our PM still won't call it genocide but don't worry because he said this is among many "unacceptable" things happening over there...

I have a friend whose neighbour literally watched their cat get eaten by a coyote in their backyard. The friend still let her own cat out in that same neighbourhood after that happened cause "oh he just keeps getting out, we don't know how..."🙄 Poor guy got hit by a car some months later.

I lost my cat for a week once but he wasn't an outdoor cat, he just snuck past as I was coming home in the dark once. It was so difficult to try to explain to people that no, he is not an outside cat, and please please help me get him back home because he doesn't know how to get home. So many people in the neighbourhood saw him but they just assumed he was an outdoor cat and didn't bother.

Thankfully I found him after many nights of going out to search for him, but I really can't imagine people would've reacted the same to a lost dog.

This was like 15 years ago but I'm still in the habit of opening my door foot first now to make sure I push any curious kitties back before I walk in.

My boyfriend is a very nice guy. He helps servers do their job by piling the plates when we're done eating and leaving them at the edge of the table where they're accessible like a normal human being.

I can promise you from 10+ years of experience in the service industry, getting up to grab your own food, no matter how "polite" your intent is, is never, ever fucking welcome. Not only is it insulting and passive aggressive, but it can cause hazards for the customer and other servers, besides you could be stealing food that's not even your own. This is absolutely unhinged behaviour.

Editing to add a PSA: it's also never okay to take food off a server's tray. That shit takes balance and you will get food or drinks spilled all over you if you pull that shit.

I am 100% pro-Palestine, I just genuinely do not understand how voting someone in who has exponentially sped up the genocide and sped up the suffering of brown, queer people and women, in his own country is somehow the more moral choice in all of this. It doesn't make any fucking sense to me.

My grandma always told me this story of when I was around that same age and I was upset because a lady was yelling at me. There was no lady to be seen, but my grandma always told me it was her mother, who was known for being pretty mean. I'm not sure if I described her physically or anything, but I never met my great grandmother.

I know I'll get downvoted for this, and to be clear, all of our governments supporting this genocide are absolute bullshit and capitalism is bullshit.

However, at least you had one choice that wasn't actively also trying to destroy your own country and take away the rights of people in your own country to such an extent that they now can't even worry about what's happening elsewhere because they're too worried trying to find healthcare and not get deported, killed, or permanently detained.

If you were going to not vote in order to take down the system, then show up and take down the god damn fucking system.

This is my #1 issue with it. My work is super pushing AI. The other day I was trying to show a colleague how to do something in teams and as I'm trying to explain to them (and they're ignoring where I'm telling them to click) they were like "you know, this would be a great use of AI to figure it out!".

I said no and asked them to give me their fucking mouse.

People are really out there fucking with extremely powerful wasteful AI for something as stupid as that.

That's interesting. When I was growing up I was told it had to meet all 5, and the reason for Canada's colonialism not being considered genocide is that it didn't meet all 5.

I don't remember too much of it. Was probably grade 6 or 7. They split us up by boys/girls. The only thing that stuck is the teacher telling us that when people with penises sleep, their penis goes UP and DOWN and UP and DOWN and she very animatedly gestured this out.

To this day, I have never noticed anybody's penis rise and fall while they're asleep, but nobody really feels comfortable with me watching either ¯(ツ)/¯
