  • GrapheneOS made clear they don't want to support anything bit Pixel devices countless times if I am not wrong and it's creator is anything but cooperative!

  • Seriously? Maybe try to take another look because that couldn't be father from reality!

  • I don't even know what to say, that's prime stupidity on another level!

  • The actual ptoblem is that X11 is impossible to maintain which is why X.org moved to Wayland... I guess some people don't want to understand jack shit!

  • Across the web and byond!

  • That change only nerfed Adblockers and made Firefox the better supported platform for UBlock Origin but I think they talk about web environment integrety aka DRM for the web, that will break ad blockers enfirely for all sites that want to block them!

  • Well, not about the DNS blocking, that's absolutely great but it can only block on a domain basis so ads from the same domain aka first party ads (E.g. Youtube ads) can't be blocked using it.

  • If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quaks like a duck it might just be a duck!

  • DNS blocking isn't proper ad blocking but it's certainly better than nothing!

  • A german Youtuber made a great video about that titles "not AI will replace you, your boss will"

  • Funfact, the shitpapers of Axel Springer plan to use fully fletched AI generated articles since ChatGPT came out, in that case I can't see any way to decrease the quality further tho!

  • Cool, a consol OS like SteamOS is one of the best usecases for immutable Linux, just a perfect match!

  • Youtube never was a especially profitable business on it's own, they basically just need it for the traffic but I guess they might try to change that, if that's the case the logical next step would be dropping independent creators! :/

  • Luckily Libretube and Piped still work so I haven't had to visit the normal Youtube site in ages, I do know Youtube increased their aggression towards third party frontends too tho so we will see how long the Newpipe extractor will work I guess!

  • Strange, I had to manually restart Pulseaudio for months before I finally decided to switch to Pipewire, I guess Linux audio just still sucks!

  • I never claimed you or others don't need it, just that it's a featore most people don't need... Furthermore almost anyone who claims to need it would be totally fine with a implementation outside of the display protocol (E.g. VNC) too so the amount of people who actually need it is extremly small.

  • I actually read their privacy policy, that's a great staeting point, well and their lack of E2E encryption is a exception for chat apps nowdays too!

  • I think thee main reason for some of Waylands feature cuts next to security and legacy stuff no one needs anymore is the unmaintainable giant X11 became but I agree, some sort of reliable way to extend the protocol directly would be cool to have eventually, usually that stuff shouldn't really be in the protocol itself ether tho!

  • He just copied the logo that's copied from a unicode symbol! ;)
