What a shitty clickbait title, there are many lawsutes all over the world to decide if the use of public data for AI training without permission is against copyright laws and you could probably write hundread articles with that title...
I already see the commends and only have one question, why are Linux users so fucking dum? countless people enjoy KDE, countless enjoy Gnome and others prefer Cinnamon or Pantheon, can't we agree to say which we like/don't like whenever it's relevant rather than trash on the other DEs every time the name pops up?...
They literally invented their own technology with no benefits over current normal products just to make it hard to replace, louis has two great video about that storage desaster and it's rediculess! :(
That's half true, no one cares about you in particular but they still collect everything to have a database of all thing that could possibly care about in the future, Snowden did a great job revealing that and while it wasn't state driven you can take a look at the Cainbridge Analytica story if you want to know what's possible even if no one ever cares about you specifically, keep in mind that that's even possible with very outdated technology by todays standards!
It's not needed anymore (they used to have a advantage in terms of live expectency) but I do think a tradition, especially one surounding food/taste remains relevant under the general population for a very long time and I don't see any western countries with more sharp food even today but I could be wrong.
With proper Federation the spread literally doesn't matter so no idea what you mean with that but I agree, the none sustaiable and unethical ad format won't be possible, no ads is something entirely different tho because sponsor segments and affiliate links would still work just as well. You are right that many wouldn't choose that path but I am sure a lot would do so if there was a good option, at leadt a lot of the ones I like to watch but currently Peertube is such a pain to use that not even I as geek and foss enthusiast do so! :(
Yes I don't understand the exact mechanisms but I did my research and no one could verify all of those huge codebases, we have experts in public so normal people can do their research and no I don't have to read every line and understand the mathematical formular to recommend secure tools...
