If you get this working thru a docker compose I will love you so much (at least more than I already do, I wish you could follow users on lemmy because I love seeing your content and posts)
Thanks. I don't know if I have the budget accounted for it this month and this current instance alongside each other, so if it were to be made it would be probably next month.
I love it. People complain about the lack of hobbyist spaces so I’m making an active effort to build them up more as time allows. I have considered making an art lemmy instance which may be a potential eventually, but I’m fine either way.
I have moderated nsfw focused communities before and at this point nothing really shocks me anymore. I thankfully have the luxury of having therapy, and for any fediverse instance that has any expectation to grow and expand they should at least consider talking to a professional at least once and having them on hand to work with any emotions that may arise.
People, left to their own devices, can become truly vile. The things I have witnessed on the internet would cause even the most emotionally stable person to crack, and it concerns me that as the fediverse grows and becomes more mainstream no one seems to have considered solutions to this. Corporations don’t even seem to have any either.
Yeah, quite a lot that needs to be removed for the sake of overall community safety. I'm not sure what you are implying though, the narrow set of content still is really bad and what this article is dealing with.
That's an extremely bad idea. If you just ignore people telling you that there is CP or illegal shit on your site you legally have to respond to it and make a good faith effort to address it. We do not want the fediverse to become 8chan.
It concerns me slightly knowing this as instances and the fediverse continues to grow. These are people being paid and being traumatized and burnt out. What's going to happen to volunteers in similar positions who aren't making money and deal with the same thing and what kind of tools are there going to be put in place to help them??? Cause there really isn't any right now
Once prominent celebrities and more news agencies start to come (and they will, the BBC is a sign of that) the culture will shift faster than you really realize. There is still an insular culture around the fediverse that tends to be a big barrier around entry for "normies" right now. Going on a mastodon instance as a new user with limited technical knowledge can be quite jarring especially if you step out of line of what it seen as culturally fitting for the fediverse
Ah my bad. I don't really feel comfortable saying their name completely openly because they are very aggressive to any and all people who point that out, but they allow loli/shotacon and attract a lot of open pedophiles. Wont say the name outright, but if you go to https://lemmy.world/instances and scroll down to "blocked" and look at the first one, that's it. Do not go to that instance. I'm serious, the content they host is illegal in many jurisdictions.
Don't threaten me with a good time
