  • CachyOS (arch-based) because I read somewhere it was good for gaming on recent rigs (supposedly pre-optimized stuff that I'll probably never learn about).

So far so good, it's been an almost "everything works out of the box" experience.

Had mainly used debian and arch before that.

  • I've been using DeltaChat (available on F-Droid) for a few months now.

What I like about it is that because it's email based, it uses OpenPGP for encryption, making it easy to have compatibility with other email-based solutions.

If you want to go the extra-secure route, you and your contacts can even self-host your emails - as long as you're not going to send messages to people on Gmail or other big providers, you can avoid your messages being treated as spam.

The multi-device support is still a bit rough around the edges, but has gotten better in the last few months since the app is under active development.

  • Nah, it's a matter of personnal preferences and use case.

I love CLI mainly because it allows me to sceipt suff, but lots of people don't mind actually seeing what they are doing and clicking on stuff to achieve it.

It's a good news there are piracy tools with a CLI, makes it more accessible to more people - and we should rejoice about it.

  • In the Paris area, there seem to be more and more recent reports of bedbugs. 3 of my friends actually had to move after the treatment of their flats failed.

Idk how bedbugs feel about the cold, but our winters are getting milder, resulting (among other things) in an increase in mosquitos population.

  • Sometimes yes. I know very little about the Israelo-palestinian confilct (only what I read from news outlet) so I can't say anything for sure here.

But more generally, in history, there have been plenty of conflicts that were one side's responsability: Ukraine's invasion, WW2, colonie's independance "wars"... IMO, when you defend yourself from an agression, you are not responsible for the conflict.

In this case, I tend to agree with other commentors - Israel seems to have been increasingly oppressive and brutal at least in the past 2 decades, and you can only push people so far before they react.

  • Well, in sole cities in France we have Uber Shit Eats alternatives owned by the people who make the deliveries, and it's smooth sailing so far.

I think it's way better this way, because entitled/abusive customers lose a lot of the power they usually have.
