  • It's hard to get the same rate of pay outside the US. If I moved to the UK, AND got promoted from Snr Mgr to Director I'd take a 30% pay cut on average, not to mention what I'd lose on selling my house early, transferring 401k, current liquid assets, car, moving costs for me and family as well as the emotional, social and opportunity cost of moving my wife who'd also have to secure her own package or else be out of work.

    Then there's the Visa cost.

You're probably looking at $20-30k USD costs not including opportunity cost and salary decrease.

  • I mean I'd likely instantly be fired and lose my house, healthcare, car, so would my wife and so would all my colleagues and their families (right to work state).

I know from the end of year state of company address the company has enough funds to last 4 months without any income whatsoever, an easy time period to replace us all with scabs, especially if they have no payroll to worry about.

When facing literal homelessness that would take maybe decades to recover from, I'd have to think very carefully about whether I'm willing to make that sacrifice on behalf of the health of a political system of a country where I'm not a citizen.

  • while I get the sentiment, it's common to call Deutchland "Germany," "Allemagne" (or similar sounding) "Tiskland" or "Xīdé" depending on your language. A lot of languages have a variant similar to

    Nyeh + mass + ka

No place really has a set "name."

  • The scanners check around ~100 data points like

    Distance between the eyes

    Width of the nose

    Depth of the eye sockets

    Shape of the cheekbones

    Length of the jaw line

presumably with a bunch of failsafes and a tolerance threshold for acceptability. Something like facial hair, makeup, glasses, haircut won't even blip it.

  • Plus it's likely that if you post any criticism of Musk whatsoever you get a lawsuit automatically. That's what rich people do. They can afford it. Its like having a VPN or an alarm system on your house. They send their lawyers.
