mmm, unless you look really closely at the door - you can't see the little divot but hopefully it's gone with the second coat of paint. Else, do I wait for paint to dry and putty+sand again?
Bunnings guy suggested I use expanding foam instead - so that's what I have gone for. It's gross ew. Last try, if this doesn't work then I will get it done by some dude on airtasker. Gah why couldn't this have been on a wall instead would've been much easier
Ok try 2 at my little DIWHY home repair. Figured out the paint colour. Its a Dulux natural white aquanamel satin finish (so go to Bunnings and ask them to tint it is what the Dulux guy told me). Then, ask for a small piece of timber or something I can stick at the back with some glue for stability and then rinse and repeat the putty process. Also get a 4mm mini roller kit for the painting. Got it. Peanut brain hard at work.
I also think that repainting the whole door surface is a good idea once sanded smooth.
This might be a problem since I'm renting this room in an apartment and I vacate next week. Would it look odd if I just painted that tiny portion? A couple people have suggested repainting the entire door - any particular reason why?
I'm renting in an apartment, and I leave next week. Also renting privately, so I really only need this to look half decent before I go. I live in the city btw
Ok cheers mate, will head to Bunnings tomorrow and look for the patch thingy. Will also try and reach the REA and figure out the color code of the door since its probably standard in this building.
Looks a bit more noticeable here, but you wouldn't see it if it wasn't exactly what you're looking for. Sorry not sure why the photo is rotated
