  • Ceiling design is intentional, it's cheap and it maintains temperature much better than a drop ceiling or whatever else you'd want up there.

Walmart normally has skylights too to let in natural light but I can't see any in the pic. That looks like a poorly maintained Walmart.

  • I don't want to shut my PC down just to walk a few blocks down the road to get lunch.

S3 standby my machine takes 10 seconds to wake up, S0 standby my machine takes 5 seconds to wake up, but to fully boot up from off and reload everything to where I was will take minutes and destroy my poor battery. i9 and nvme ssds are not power friendly.

  • There's a reason why they cost that much. If it costs 2x as much but lasts 5x as long then what's the better value?

I've never gotten a chinese knockoff battery that comes even close to the same endurance as an OEM battery. Even used ones will last longer on a charge and hold their capacity longer than knockoffs. Plus you don't run the risk of the batteries expanding and causing a fire.

  • The 5.56 mm high velocity rifle round tends to fragment though, creating multiple wound channels pointing in different directions from the impact point

That's just straight up not true. 5.56, especially steel core is designed to penetrate bulletproof armor. You aren't penetrating bulletproof armor if you fragment hitting skin or bone.

You've got them switched. It's hollow point handgun ammo that isn't supposed to fragment, but can depending on the quality of the ammo and what it hits can. A defective hollow point will do exactly what you've described.

  • There's already more than one version without snap, it's already a confusing mess. Not all distros are compatible with the exact same binaries. And people probably don't want to compile everything form source.

Snap could potentially unify things, and remove all of that confusion.

  • Bullet wounds from an AR-15 (.223 or 5.56) typically look much cleaner than wounds from a larger handgun bullet, especially a hollow point.

A rifle round just goes straight through pretty cleanly. A 9mm round from a handgun is nearly twice as large as 5.56mm so the bullet hole is twice as large, and because it's a less aerodynamic shape (and designed specifically to expand and impart the most force into the target) leaves much nastier wounds.

  • The NRA is a marketing team for gun manufacturers, and what sells guns is fear of gun bans. The NRA does everything in their power to fuel those fears.

Pro and anti gun alike hate them. It's mostly just boomers keeping them going.

  • Search currently kinda sucks actually inside the fediverse. I tried to find one of those posts before making the comment but gave up because it was worthless.

I’d imagine it’s only a matter of time until someone makes something better, and 3rd parties start mining it. Or we’ll get that nefarious third party with a server just ingesting all our data to sell off.
