Windows has a lovely “feature” where it installs the bootloader on a secondary drive if there’s one connected. It doesn’t install it on drive 1 and drive 2, just drive 2. I always disconnect all secondary drives before installing windows for this very reason.

That said you can configure the windows bootloader to recognize your Linux (or grub) and just use that to manage booting two OSes and it’s less likely to not destroy things.

Onstar has existed since 1996. Cars have been doing this for a long time and it’s not new.

Cisc was never adopted. It all started out basic, then they gradually added more and more shit until you had a complex CPU.

Without the concept of risc there wouldn’t be a cisc.

Also replacement OEM batteries have always been stupid expensive. User replaceable or not. And 3rd party ones have always been garbage with very few exceptions (RIP zero lemon 10,000mah battery for my note 3).

They deliberately slowed down phones with defective batteries to prevent them from randomly crashing. Which would cause a lot more people to complain than the phone being slower, but not turning off at 30%.

This is why I've ended up keeping my Pixel 4 on Android 10. I've made backups and flashed the latest versions, only to come back because every time they've broken something I need the phone to do.

It makes me glad that this is a secondary phone because I can happily keep it on this ancient version of Android and not give a shit about the security.

Ryzen 5000 series chips are getting really cheap. 5950 may hold a premium. But Im you could find a 5900 for nothing soon and get 2x the CPU.

The Model S has the interior of a nice Camry, but with an iPad strapped on. Bentleys are legitimate ultra luxury cars with absurd interior quality.

Yes I've done many background checks in the past. No I don't care about giving that info to an individual who I'm buying a firearm from. I would trust the individual more with this information than any business. I don't buy guns the same way I buy an xbox off of Facebook Marketplace.

Side note: The last few times I've been they've actually encouraged me to lie when filling out the form. So it's not even like they give two shits. And ironically they're right next door to a homeland security office.

Does the seller get the private information of the buyer and run it?

That sounds like the institution's fault not Apple's.

Institutions have been unloading machines with bios passwords for eons, it's nothing really new other than it's much harder to bypass it.

Activation locks are to deter theft, which they’re incredibly good at.

The problem is devices still made LONG after 4G came out with 2 or 3G. My friends 2016 Hyundai has 2G for its blue link service that now doesn’t work. My 2018 Outback uses 3G for its Starlink system, but I ripped that box out long ago.
