  • If they make the same amount by selling less units that makes a hell of a lot more sense.

The average person probably wouldn’t notice besides “damn inflation making stuff expensive”, and they may lose a small percentage of their customers, but if the price difference makes up for it then they’re golden.

  • Same tier as McDonald’s and Burger King, but at the top while McDonald’s is the floor.

That said I don’t think Wendy’s is all that great. If I had to choose a left turn for Wendy’s or a right turn for McDonald’s I’ll pick mc dicks 10/10 times. Their “fresh never frozen” and “cooked to order” translates to takes 10 times longer than Mcky Ds.

  • Nepotism/cronyism will get you a lot further than a silly piece of paper.

IMO the most important thing about college is the people you meet. Build a large network of individuals who know you, and know where you want to be, and one of them might just get your foot in the door.

  • Oh yeah I forgot about that. I think the 7a or 8a added it but I haven’t heard favorable things about their battery life either.

Well my 4 still does the job. Screen burn is pretty minimal and I’m doing my best to manually keep it at bay. If its battery blows up at least the back isn’t even glued on properly so I can replace it again.

  • MagSafe/qi 2 + PPS should fix that. It’s actually tolerable to wirelessly charge my phone and do anything with it.

But it’s still going to get pretty hot if you’re doing wireless CarPlay/AA. Even wired CarPlay it will get warm.

  • Are the newer pixels any better? I have a pixel 4 that I’d like to upgrade at some point but it seems like everything else would be a downgrade for what I want.

Good battery life under load, wireless charging, and NFC are the only things I want. A low end phone with a potato for a CPU would be plenty but none of them have wireless charging AND NFC. They’ve started to have one, or the other, but not both.

  • People here just irrationally hate apple, not even just their products. Like yesterday there was a person who was just literally making stuff up to dunk on them. I tried to set them up for a home run (and they could have scrolled down just a little bit for all the info they needed) but the best they could come up with was a feeling they had.

    0 though, just irrationally angry.

  • EVs will depreciate to the point that low income people can buy them. Same with how gas cars are now.

For charging that will require a lot of upgrades on the land lords part. You don't need to charge all that often, but if they can supply 240 volt outlets to 1/4 the parking spots that would satisfy most peoples needs.

  • My qualm is all of the visual artificing I see. Maybe it's just the games I play, but there are some pretty bad graphical glitches that bother me, and the frame timing is off or something because it makes the game feel less smooth. Part of the smoothness is probably the relatively weak CPU in my laptop. But even on my desktop the frame pacing doesn't feel the same as native.

  • That particular person appears to believe that upscalers, such as like DLSS and FSR, are "basic features"

Do people really like DLSS/FSR that much that they consider it a basic feature? I can't stand the look of it and I'd rather just run actually at a lower resolution since it ends up looking better.

  • N series CPUs don't even compete with a few gen old i5s. The N100 in my router is roughly scores 1000/1800 in geekbench (minus a few exceptions like this heavily overclocked one) while the i5-10240u in the Thinkpad T14 that I got a year ago for $200 scores about 1300/3000. N100 devices are surprisingly rare too. You're much more likely to see the older n5105 which is horrendous and scores like half that.

12th gen i3s would actually give 10th gen i5s a run for their money, but you're much more likely to see an i3 in a machine that's liquid garbage, has poor cooling (and can't sustain those speeds for long), and falls apart in a few years. We have a few of those machines at work and they SUCK. There's a reason older Thinkpads are the laptops of nerds on a budget everywhere.

  • Just open up 50 chrome tabs, have discord, Spotify and all your other junk running in the background.

That's why I went with a dual computer setup at home. My gaming PC just runs the game (and monitoring software because I'm a nerd) and my second PC does all the internet browsing/other stuff.
