  • USB PD 1.0 is irredenta in 2025. 2.0 is basically irrevent outside of old device still on sale.

If the charger does 60 watts or greater it's going to be 20v. https://www.renesas.com/sites/default/files/media/images/normative-voltage-source-pdp-rating.png

Everything made in the past like 4 years is 3.0. Ideally you shouldn't buy anything that isn't PPS (programmable power supply) because it makes charging a LOT more efficient.

But good luck finding a 12v adapter, they're very hit or miss on supporting it since 12v is optional now and not a lot of things support it.

  • Thankfully when I first got into mechanical keyboards the flood of the cheap slop hadn't happened. So like worst keyboard you'd find is like a sturdy plastic housing with a metal backplate.

Switch tester to find what you like. Then buy once cry once. Don't get gamer garbage, find one that works out of the box the way you want. Maybe QMK so you can program it once to do what you want, then you never need the software ever again.

  • If it's just dimming you could go with dumb dimmable bulbs and just make the light switch "smart".

Apparently modern dimmers just PWM the power so it wouldn't take much to make something that does that. I assume LED bulbs work nicely with dimmers by now.

  • On my iPhone 15 pro using the windows 11 phone link will cause my phone to stop connecting to other devices.

Basically set up phone link so it can send notifications to the PC, and use it for a bit. After that shut down (or just walk away) from the PC and try to connect to a Bluetooth device (AirPods for example). Most of the time it won’t work. My AirPods for example will get stuck connecting. I haven’t found the exact rhyme or reason of when it does work. But usually when it’s broken turning Bluetooth off and back on again (in system settings) fixes it.
