  • It snows there from October to May, and there's super bad black flies and mosquitos once it thaws. Only 3% of the Michigan population live there, and they'd prefer you not interfere with that.

  • They already got away with using the map that was unconstitutional because it was too close to the 2022 election! This takes entirely too long to remedy, and there's no making up for the consequences of gerrymandering since no one goes back to redo elections.

  • Oh no, it's never good to see a picture of one's high school in the news. That stuck-up suburb is still teeming with white supremacists and indignant morons.

  • Without cheese, the sauce gets a layer of dried, often burnt, sauce in areas not covered by toppings. It's OK once in a while, but not great.

  • I like pizza, but don't like cheese. Without cheese, the sauce gets dried out, so I order regular pizza and eat the toppings, then peel and discard the cheese before eating the rest. Sometimes I pile the toppings and reapply them to the cheese-free pizza afterwards.

  • Back in the day, I'd be thrilled to read something like this, but now all I hear is 'look at how many new ways the Google overlord can fuck humans up with protein mutations to eliminate fragile meat-based enemies'

  • It looks like a protection racket with extra steps. An unpleasant solution presented by the problem creator. Why is this not banned?

  • I had my fallopian tubes removed after the Dobbs decision leaked

  • Not surprised that a company named after the god of war is an international war sponsor

  • I don't understand, if they must obey Catholic law, they have confession and all that to forgive sins don't they? Nothing about getting fired as a teacher for sinning in their rule book is there?

  • Hey it's my old district! The new one is still gerrymandered but at least I'm not in that smug pirate asshole's district any more

  • Most straightforward would be getting BS in psychology, neuroscience, or biology, then PhD in psychology/neuroscience programs or MD/PhD. The exact field varies quite a bit, you can have a background in engineering or mathematics as well. MD/PhD gives you more options in clinical research, regular PhD gives you more laboratory experience but you can always get involved in clinical research. I don't have an MD but I can still collect tissue or do assessments on patients for research in coordination with MDs

  • An AP psych course 20 years ago is how I figured out what I want to do for a living. That's super depressing because until that point I didn't know you could do brain research as a career.

  • I nearly missed a jury duty notice because of this habit. I only check if I know money or a specific bill is coming.

  • Hey now, I voted for a totally different HISD school board, they were forcefully taken away by the work of assholes other people voted for dammit

  • This was super obviously suspicious from day 1. I immediately thought either this person was in a drug induced haze, trying to cover up a drunk/drugged driving incident, in the middle of a mental health crisis, or covering up being somewhere with someone they shouldn't have been at the time.

  • Why? The dog did their job right, it was the handler that fucked up. If anything the dog is the least deserving of punishment in this scenario.

  • Fuck me, he's young! I heard about this yesterday but assumed it was one of the ancient bigots that still reminisce about the good ol' days of legal segregation

  • I could record my dad's hour-long Fox News-inspired rants and convert them into one-sentence hate speech tweets for a side gig if they're going to pay well for generating ragebait
