Oh I’m fully aware of what I’ve said.

Please remember that centuries of generations of Palestinians are not responsible for the centuries of oppression of the Jewish people by Europeans. The generations affected by the relentless pressure of Israeli soldiers and right-wing settlers have only their own experience to draw on.

I’m not anti-Israel, however I do feel that over the last 60 years, increasingly, they have a overstepped the bounds of decency and created a rod for their own back.

Believe it or not, it is possible to publicly defend Ukraine, be against the long-standing brutality that Israel has dealt to Palestinians, and also be horrified about the thousands of years of injustice that Jews have faced in history.

My parents are Boomers and very well thought-out folk. Both scientists and left wing. Generous towards demographic failings on the lower end of financial clout in recognising that society has failed most people and continues to do so.

We were rich in cultural capital but relatively lower middle class in finances.

I’ve developed a rather more strict and harsh view of ‘aspirational’ values when it comes to Veblen Goods and status. My patience with society’s failings are much less generous.
