  • Well since my original comment was exclusively addressing the women who were offended by the calendar, I thought it was pretty obvious that I wasn't talking about the women who participated, but please, feel free to write a few more paragraphs showing me that you either didn't read or didn't understand what I wrote.

  • Do you have to practice being that condescending or is it a natural ability? First, there's no such thing as a conservative man who actually respects women, so this "division" is really just a disagreement about how they want to be disrespectful - via mildly titillating pictures, or via religious control.

Second, I spend huge amounts of time in ex-fundie communities, and both religious and secular conservatism are basically the topic of conversation. I know what conservative women consider to be "respect," and was applying their standards to this subject. Even by their absolute bottom of the barrel expectations, men are letting them down in this case. The only men on "their side" still view women as property and are only really upset because they think women should only be showing their bits to the man who owns her.

  • I'm really enjoying all the right wing women getting offended by this. Like, no shit these men don't respect women, they never did. You're not different or special just because you're a giant pick-me, and conservative men only put you on a pedestal when they can use it to insult liberal women. Cry more about the situation you put yourself in.

  • Oh well if you don't do drugs, you're totally safe! Everyone knows police have never kicked down the wrong door, or drunkenly broken into the wrong apartment, or driven a tank into the wrong house and killed someone before checking to make sure they have the right address. They always knock politely and say, "excuse me, are you the drug dealer we're looking for?" before shooting people and/or pets.

    🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄

  • It's innovative in that they looked at the resource scanning in ME3, settlements in FO4, and romance in practically any game that has romance, and they said, "let's put all of that in this game, but kind of pointless and more annoying to do." I actually enjoyed a lot of the game but I'm pretty sure people voting were either bots or trolls.

  • This is why I'm going to drive my 2012 RAV4 until it dies or I die, whichever comes first. I'd love to switch to an EV but unless something drastically changes in the industry, I'm not paying that kind of money for a car company to spy on me. At least my phone does me the courtesy of being fairly cheap while it harvests my data.

  • I said the same thing. My ex-husband was military (though not boot at all) and you could absolutely find this truck in the px parking lot. Probably driven by a 20 year old with a kid and a pregnant wife who goes shopping off base in his uniform solely so people will thank him for his service.

  • That's true - it bums me out that more people didn't follow through on their threats to leave, but I did and I don't spend hours doomscrolling every day anymore. That alone is a good outcome. I learned to embroider to keep from picking up my phone over and over during the blackout and it's one of my favorite hobbies now. Also a good outcome. For me, the protest was a success. Reddit can make every stupid choice under the sun, and it doesn't impact my life in the least anymore.

  • This is sadly very true, but what I'm hearing from the local MAGAts is that they don't like the kind of whore who would do sex stuff on public (with a Democrat, no less). Mostly they're hypocrites, because if she was a man, they'd say that's just how men are. I find a mashing a dude's dick around to be one of the least offensive things she's done except for the whole "in public around people who didn't consent to see that" part, but I'm also not a conservative so 🤷‍♀️

  • This is a real dumb take. Saying something is funny is not the same as saying you're riled up about it, and nowhere in the same universe as saying, "this is the only thing I care about." Believe it or not, I can think this is amusing while also still paying attention to issues that are a lot more important.

Also dumb because I'm a giant queer in Denver, so both of those two causes are near and dear to my heart, but you had to come in making a bunch of assumptions for no reason.

  • Ugh, thank god. That dude was constantly posting the worst takes, in the sense that a lot of them were straight up lies. It says a lot that I knew who it was going to be about before I even opened the post.
