If we had a way to quarantine them all together so they can't infect their unvaccinated kids, or anyone else who didn't ask to participate in their bullshit, I'd be fully on board. Unfortunately, we saw what those dipshits did with COVID.

Yeah you didn't remember correctly at all. The fee to renounce citizenship is ~$2300 for everyone. For the IRS piece, you file a final tax return the year you renounce citizenship, and they check to see if you've been compliant and paid everything you owe for the previous 5 years, but the exit tax only kicks in if you're worth over $2 million, paid an average of a shitload of taxes (like more than twice the US median household income, so most people aren't going to qualify) over the previous 5 years, or don't certify that you're in compliance. IF you have a lot of money, they treat it as though you've sold everything you own and calculate what that would be worth, deduct $821,000 (as of last year), then tax the rest of the amount they calculated. Then you're done, unless you happen to have US income after that.

It's true, I'm so anti-family that I want people to make a living wage with paid parental leave, have access to affordable housing and childcare, go to doctor without declaring bankruptcy, and eat 3 meals a day that aren't made of garbage. I want kids to go to school and learn actual facts and not have to worry about if this is the day they get shot. Me and my cat-sized dog are so miserable with our choices that we want people to have happy, healthy lives even if we don't personally benefit from most of those policies. Fuck families, amirite?

Realistically, most DEI initiatives I've seen have been more like, "put a statement acknowledging that women and minorities are less likely to apply for jobs when they don't meet 100% of the requirements and encouraging them to apply anyway, make the work environment not a living nightmare for those candidates/employees, don't throw resumes in the trash because they have a 'black name,' Sharon." If even that much, really. Republicans act like companies are firing all the cishet white dudes instead of just maybe not having a leadership team composed exclusively of those men.

Me too. It's easier to just stay on a schedule rather than ruin Monday (and sometimes Tuesday) by changing when I sleep on the weekends. Plus, my dog is also on a schedule and starts looking for snuggles at about 6.
