  • Does Russia invading Ukraine justify the US invading Iraq?

Though we are discussing individuals here, should we ban Americans in projects to maintain moral integrity?

BTW are you referring to historical (pre 1990) expansion as well? Because an American really shouldn't want to go there.

  • That' an EU directive.

To take effect, national measures must achieve the objectives set by the directive. National authorities must communicate the measures they adopt to the European Commission.

Now find the 27 national laws that make it mandatory for people to sort food waste separately.

The directive by the way says that member states have to encourage not force food separation.

  • Yes Stalin famously implemented an electoral college.

The only reasonable explanation for an American to support the EC is claim it's democratic is him being a Stalinist or a Russian sock puppet.

Couldn't be an American internalizing USA's own jingoistic propaganda about how it is the most democratic and free state etc.

    Always somebody else's fault.

  • The bot posts in world news which allows non us news.

It not trying to criticize the right wing bias of political discourse it's trying to normalize it and apply it to non US issues and media.

  • Its an incredibly pro US biased instance despite not being hosted in the US and having a .world domain.

Greatest hits are politics@lemmy.world forbidding non-US topics and of course news@lemmy.world and its bias check bot according to which every non US media is left wing biased.

  • I just read your list and it confirms mine.

Small buffer AND can't skip ahead on a boring video because you can only get served the ads to unlock further video after time equal to the served video duration has passed.

That is not YouTube, it's online TV and there will be an impact on the product. Preloading a video via a 3rd party client will still easily beat this scheme. Just get a headstart equal to the first ad break.

  • Sure if you fundamentally change what YouTube you can make it work.

You need very small buffers or complete disablement of seeking even outside of ads. Otherwise a client can reconstruct the video without viewer interruption.

People however expect to be able to skip ahead in YouTube videos, otherwise its just TV.

  • That's a lie.

The original Sony feature did not give access to all the hardware and thus it was not possible to play ps3 games on it.

Their ban actually motivated people to crack Sony's measures and install Linux with full access to the hardware.

  • What makes the US have more free speech?

Legally all EU countries have freedom of expression enshrined in their constitutions.

Culturally I find Americans blind to any non governmental censorship. Since it's legal its OK.I believe not allowing private companies to censor people is absurdly considered a violation of free speech.

There are obvious results as well: the US is way less politically diverse.
