Just watched ep 1. Think I'll continue in the same way I watched season 1: admiring how good it looks, but finding it frustrating.
As an example: as welcome as a naked Lee Pace fight scene is, it didn't really establish how many assassins there were / what they were doing at any given moment.
Was good to see Holt McCallney (from Mindhunter), show up though.
I think this is the issue - if the community itself isn't tagged, blocking NSFW on your account doesn't filter the posts (although they should be blurry if the posts themselves are tagged).
Fortunately, most of the untagged communities (inc. celebs) are modded by a user called Madness, so blocking him cleared up my feed.
Thank you, but it was the one after that one. You wouldn't have seen it. I know 'cos after I tagged it, I couldn't see it either (well, not without changing my account settings, which makes Lemmy into a whole other experience.
Tagging something as NSFW is just a click, so no biggie
This is true, but I think Lemmy accounts default to not showing NSFW stuff, so most people browsing this Community won't see anything tagged with it. So the mechanism for avoiding potential lewd comments, is to make sure it won't get any comments at all.
This is one theory. The other is that the NSFW meme I posted earlier that went nowhere wasn't as funny as I thought it was. But that seems inconceivable.
This is great work. I assume LMAO was the same guy as Angled - it'll be an 1.7K communities nixed if the script is used for him (so, 19% of the total!)
Re: navigating between Subscribed, Local or All on the Alexandrite version, I've just realised that I also have to press "Go>" to make it change, so sorry about that.
Re: using LASIM to upload subscriptions still doesn't do anything, unfortunately. It might be the app - I've never used it on anything before tbh.
new.endlesstalk.org looks very pretty, and it's all very speedy, but - for me, on Microsoft Edge - clicking 'Subscribed' or 'Local' or 'All' doesn't actually change anything.
Also, I tried to migrate my subscriptions etc with LASIM, but - for old.endlesstalk.org - it says the API isn't there, and for endlesstalk.org and new.endlesstalk.org it uploads and says it's worked, but nothing is there for any of the site versions.
Oh right, I tried that - I was going to put a link in my comment, not just complain - but it didn't work, so I assumed it must be elsewhere. But now I've clicked on your link a few times, it shows up. Thanks.
There's some sticky posts for this community - on the importance of initially populating a community, and providing links (I've no idea where 'protest' is hosted)
Only that Perlman is saying "we all know who it is", which suggests there aren't other candidates up for debate as for who it could be.
During previous strikes, I think it was relatively small groups of men who actually got the negotiating done on the AMPTP's behalf, rather than the AMPTP itself. Iger was a part of those groups in the past, so maybe that's another reason.
The Name of the Wind is a brave first recommendation though. A little joke: for George R R Martin's unfinished work after he dies, Patrick Rothfuss has already been selected as the author to also not complete them.
I like the idea that these reviewers all had the concept for a perfect Barbie movie, and are then criticising this one for not living up to it.
I think that - like most people - when I heard that Gerwig was making a movie out of Barbie, I thought: how the hell is she going to do that?
