  • Actually beans are pretty carbon friendly, it's the red meat you got to worry about.

  • Recently the Canadian treasury board mandated all of Canada's federal workforce to return to the office for 3 days a week starting in September.

    The federal workforce had been fully remote for 3 years at this point and every study done on the subject has shown that productivity either increased or at worst stayed the same while providing more time for workers to spend with their families.

    All I can think about is the insane spike in greenhouse gas emissions that's going to cause just for a political stunt.

  • There's always going to be important issues that are going to be difficult to debate without some level of emotion, especially when talking about politics or the environment, you have to remember that this personally affects people's lives.

    However it can get overwhelming and it's important that you have the self-awareness to know when you need to step away.

    I know it's easy to judge the Internet by its worst actors but you have to remember that everyone needs to learn and be part of the discourse it's not just the internet, that's humanity.

  • Google does a fair amount of data gathering even if you don't log in. I think it does it through cookies, fingerprinting or browser inspection

    If I use a session long enough it will start to change to my actual taste

  • I just gave Bandcamp a look and was able to find some stuff that I wasn't able to find anywhere else and got a chance to support the artist so that was pretty cool thanks.

  • I wasn't aware of that to be honest I knew they were all pretty low but I didn't know Deezer was the lowest.

    I just like their app. Going to have to look into tidal I guess, although considering I haven't really changed my music taste for a while, I might consider band camp at this point.

    Actually you know what I've talked to myself into it. I'm just going to download my music with Bandcamp and use syncthing to have it wherever I need it. Thanks for the inspiration stranger
