  • you probably are doing it wrong ;)

the problem is cutting edge devices where vendors only publish windows drivers - often friendly hackers have to develop their own drivers to make your stuff work. for users with such hardware the free software experience is often sub-par and they probably won't try it anytime soon. but for everyone else, casual i-only-browse-text-and-watch-videos-on-my-rather-standard-build-users will usually find ad-free, smoothly running no-bullshit (or depending on the distro maybe little-bullshit) computing experience. it's a shame hardware vendors are allowed to only publish drivers for windows.

it's one of the few cases where people with more expertise (i.e. you who builds your own machibe) get a less satisfying result. i'd suggest you try again with spare parts from your last build ;)

  • how can you know these things when you only know a couple of seconds? that's like saying you know a movie from having seen some short sequences of action scenes.

art isn't how it looks but rather how it makes you feel, no? framing art (like in this video) robs the original art of their intention and creates a new perception on it.

kinda like saying rock music is bad because you heard of ozzy munching a bat or seeing marilyn manson harm himself on stage

  • I think you can spoof per tab/container. i used an exclusive Firefox Profile for the bad/contaminated (read: not privacy respecting) browsing - in there i'd ocasionally switch the UserAgent to make Teams calls.

there's no way i'd work on a machine with M$ spyware installed and always running

  • Google does not display the same results for the same queries among different users, they display highly personalized stuff. Web search sadly has become almost unusable when you opt for anonymized use of the internet
