  • On the other hand, Rawlings uses her success as a public validation for her bigotry. So it is fair to opt out of supporting her artistry.

Secondly, bigotry is layered in her books.

    • family is better than being free of abuse
    • slavery is funny, also they like it
    • goblins are a terrible caricature of Jewish people
    • general acceptance of eugenics in daily society
  • Beta only means buggy piece of shit to people who use software and then mostly gamers. In industries where prototypes can kill people a "beta" product is one that is safe for the intended use. For example, if you invented a new way to do internal scans of people, before you can even test it on humans you would have done extensive testing on animals to know what works, what doesn't, and what gives them cancer, and have done the modelling to have a strong understanding on if it is safe with humans.

Nobody would tolerate a scanner that gave people cancer, oops

  • But it's not like for like. Misusing statistics like you are doing doesn't help the conversation it just makes you look ignorant.

When you include someone who works 10 hours a week against a minister who is responsible for a department that manages thousands of people it just makes you look small minded and, quite frankly, not knowledgeable enough to join the conversation.

  • Baring most of new trek, all of the species rock and suck in their own ways. Humans are extremely powerful in their own ways. So while they might not be the Mary sues of the universe they certainly aren't light-years behind their opponents. If anything the federation, led by humanity, are in the position they are in due to the technology

  • Who's going to teach them? We can't even hire enough teachers for the shitfestival that education is now, how do you find more teachers?

Once you get those teachers who are skilled at driving advanced classes, would you require them also work in the poor performing classes?

That's a conditions trap, now that good teacher is dealing with the administration and trauma burden of the low performing class making it complex for them to perform in the advanced class.

Would you make them specialists? That's an equity and human resources management nightmare. Whid want to work in a class of hard students when classes of dreamy well behaved engaged kids is a possibility

Do we keep it the same and continue to systemically disadvantage everyone?

There are no easy answers. The entire education system needs to be invented and rebuilt from the ground up.
