I'm a fan of PeerTube, but it's.. rough. Discoverability is subpar and many instances are bandwidth constrained. Video streaming is still a bulk-hosting game unfortunately.
I think the migration to Piefed would be worse. Piefed is great, but needs better App support for Lemmy users to migrate. A merge of the Thunder fork into main Thunder would get the ball rolling.
The map posted here is misleading. Each point is representative of an independent fire, but not the fire's size. Looking at the interactive map in the linked article, you can see just how large the fires in Canada are.
Personally I don't care where they are, they're sad regardless. But the volume of smoke we are seeing is from the sheer volume of acreage blazing in Canada.
Webbian provides a full X session with Debian and Firefox in a browser via Docker. Change the command to firefox and it would just start that vs the full X session. So you could have remote Firefox in Firefox.
People do realize it's the merger's responsibility, right? I mean, don't block people in, but you should be holding your speed if you're in the right lane, not adjusting.
