Please don't do this. Stores need to stop with the plastic infused receipt paper that leaches into your skin in seconds.

If the author used anything but Twitter or LinkedIn, I'd be inclined to inform them,, but oh well.

Open weights + an OSI approved license is generally what is used to refer to models as open source. the with that said, Deepseek R1 is am MIT license, and this one is Apache 2. Technically that makes Deepseek less restrictive, but who knows.

I've got my kit, just haven't gotten around to installing it yet!

Edit: also worth noting for others that this system is FOSS, unlike Gaggiuno, which went closed source. That's why I chose it.

How is your underlying file system set up?

Can your router open ports from a hostname vs an IP? If so, clients could run dynamic DNS.

WG client side isn't really that hard, though. All the fam run WG 24/7 on devices, and only traffic for the internal network goes through it.

But the conversation is unique in each community. And each community may not have federated to every instance. This is the Fediverse, not a single site with sub communities.

I do think it would be nice if a client/backend could:

• Take any cross-post link from the main post
• Query any description/comments for cross posts
• Add to the currently displayed comments
• Tack on descriptions as comment blocks with an @ to the cross posting OP to the displayed description
• Mark cross-posts as read when main is read

This would be easier in Lemmy, but could be done with a client, Thunder might be interested.
