If they are fishing for illegal immigrants they aren't already aware of then that means that legal immigrants and citizens will primarily be the ones getting harassed by overreaching federal agencies. If only there was a party tht respected people's right and didn't "tread" on them.

Everything is so fucking quick and easy for this guy but every fucking time it's time to put up or shut up things get "extremely difficult". Everyone else knew that from the start...I'm sick of waiting around for this guy to catch up to basic levels of understanding like "Putin doesn't actually want peace" and "tariffs don't actually fix inflation" and "trade wars are a bit difficult to manage and you have less leverage when you start one against the entire world (including close allies) at the same time even though China was already a handful the last time we went through this with just them"

I certainly wouldn't be voting for Trump since i have the rare human ability of noticing when someone has lied to my face thousands of times in the most absurd, lazy, and inconsistent manner possible.

My dad was a Republican and a military man who i respected immensely, so I could've seen myself going that route, but that route in my mind was "fiscally conservative" and not "socially conservative", but I haven't seen any fiscal responsibility from that party outside of implementing cuts to offset massive tax break handouts for billionaires, and there's instead an extremely unhealthy emphasis on the latter.

Come to think of it i don't think i even came across politics much during my childhood years with Internet, it was still web forums mainly and political web forums sounds as boring now as it did then. (though It's kinda weird that i feel that way and still spend most of my time on lemmy discussing politics rather than any other topics)

Whether or not billionaires should exist on the first place is a separate topic that I'm guessing we both agree on. But they exist nonetheless, and they certainly have a material impact on the world, so all that leaves you with is comparing them against their peers to get a better idea of how truly greedy the worst of them are.

Fair point. Maybe it doesn't work out so well for that guy, but for the 999/1000 people who don't want to be murdered/tortured, "do unto others" probably ends up being a net positive versus "do whatever the fuck you want as long as you can get away with it", which seems to be the direction a lot of "leaders" are going and dragging humanity into Hell alongside them
